The Sheridan local air force deployed a gift history in 1941. The unit's first gift was an airplane to the Sheridan Municipal Airport. This gift allowed the air force to fly personnel and supplies to the area during World War II. The next year, the Sheridan Air Force Base was established and gifts became more common. In 1951, a F-80 Shooting Star Aircraft was gifted to the base by General Electric Company. This aircraft allowed for aerial refueling and other missions as part of Allied forces during World War II. Other gifts include helicopters, planes, and missiles in 1967. The air force has also donated troopships and armored vehicles in 2002 and 2006. Gifts from the Sheridan Air Force Base have helped support local communities throughout Wyoming since its establishment in 1941.

The USAF often sends items such as new clothing, tools, vehicles, or other equipment as part of its Christmas and holiday season celebrations. Some of the more famous air force gifts include the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft, which are America's most advanced fighter jet; F-22 Raptor fighter jets; Boeing 747 planes; and MiG-29 fighters. The USAF has been sending Operation Santa Claus Gift Wagon teams since 1961. These gift teams distribute presents to servicemen and women deployed in support of Operation Santa Claus. These wagons travel throughout the United States distributing presents to military personnel stationed at various bases around the country. In recent years, the USAF has also started using drones for aerial gifting purposes. This year, they used drones to deliver packages to military service members stationed in Afghanistan. The drone delivery was conducted in coordination with local residents who were able to provide information on where the parcels had been delivered so that theAF could track them down and hand out presents accordingly

Sheridan, Wyoming is a small town located in Sheridan County, Wyoming. The population was 2,558 at the 2010 census. Sheridan is the county seat of Sheridan County. The name Sheridan comes from Sioux Chief Black Horse and means "place where the buffalo roam." The first settler in this area was John C. Fremont in 1868. He named his tract of land after General Ulysses S. Grant who fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as President of the United States from 1877 to 1881. The area around Sheridan became a wheat belt during the early 1800s when settlers traveled upriver to buy flour from farmers in Nebraska and Kansas. By 1870, there were over 100 farms here growing wheat and other crops. In 1916, World War I began and Sheridan voted not to participate because they did not have any weapons or munitions available for their soldiers! They later adopted an ordinance allowing civilians to possess arms for self-defense only if it is registered with the police department beforehand! The post office was established here on November 15, 1913, by John Hargrave Barnes with a single letter designation (P). It moved to its current location here in 1922 after being displaced by a fire that destroyed most of downtown Sheridan! One of my favorite things about living in Sheridan is that there are so many interesting stories about our ancestors who lived here before us! There are stories about pioneers such as Isaac Phillips who settled near what is now town hall in 1865; about ranchers such as George Aiken who grazed their herds on government land until 1886; about miners such as Tom Laughlin who worked at various mine sites during the late 1800s; and even more recent residents like myself who have been born here since 2000!
