Looking back over the history of gourmet coffee in Evanston, Wyoming it is easy to see that the area has been home to some of the most unique and renowned cafes in the world. The first cafe in Evanston was called The Coffee House, opened by a group of businessmen in 1876. It was an early example of a modern coffee shop, serving up espresso drinks and light snacks such as sandwiches and pie. In 1905, Koffee Klatch opened up on State Street, becoming one of the first gourmet coffee shops in America. The shop offered its own blend of roasts and beans from around the world, with a wide variety of desserts and pastries available for purchase. In 1923, The Coffee House merged with another local business, The Gilded Cage. This merger allowed for the addition of luxury lounges and dining rooms inside the existing building, which became known as The Gilded Cage II. Over time, other businesses joined forces with The Gilded Cage II – including Johnnie’s Café (now Joes), which opened in 1951; Cafe du Soleil (later Troppo Pizza), which opened in 1957; and finally Mr. B’s Pizzeria & Grill (now Sock Monkey) in 1988. The success of these businesses led to further expansion within Evanston – starting with incorporations into other municipalities until there were now six separate entities operating under one roof: The Coffee House Restaurant Group Inc., Koffee Klatch LLC., Du Soleil Corporation Ltd., Mr B's Pizzeria & Grill LLC., Johnnie's Café Inc., Troppo Pizza Inc., and Cafe du Soleil Corp Ltd.. Today there are still many iconic Evanston cafes – such as Tandem Coffeehouse (which closed down last year but will be reborn as a new restaurant next year), Soul Food Kitchen & Bar (which is currently being renovated), Johnny Bob's BBQ Shack (opened last year as JoeBob's BBQ), Paxson's Bakery & Cafe (opened last year as Principled Bakery ), Red Lobster Warehouse Cafe - open since 1922 - along with several food trucks that serve fresh made-to-order dishes from various cafés throughout town

The city also features several shopping districts including Downtown Evanston, the lakefront district east of downtown, West Side District (including North Campus), South Side District (including East Campus), and Midtown District (including South Campus). There are also numerous parks within walking distance including Forest Park/Laramie National Forest just east of downtown, State Fairgrounds across from Northwestern University’s main campus on Park Avenue NE., Miller Park just west of North Campus (and open to the public all year round), Lake Michigan beach district northwest of downtown near Pavilion Gardens apartment complex/residence area/fishing pier/, Oneida Hills neighborhood east-west between Main Street NW and State Road 24W., suburban areas south-southwest of town along I-80 approximately 2 miles away from town center)
Since the late 1800s, coffee has been a popular drink for people all over the world. Despite the fact that coffee is a ground plant, it has long been considered an essential part of many cultures and meals. Some of the earliest known references to coffee date back to ancient Babylon. Coffee was mentioned in an inscription from 622 BC as a type of tea. It wasn’t until the early 1500s that coffee began to be exported from Europe and North America. In 1590, Columbus discovered America and soon after he brought back beans from his journey there. The first Starbucks store opened up in Seattle in 1994. Since then, Starbucks has become one of the most well-known and successful coffee companies in the world. The origins of espresso go back even further than that though. In 1796, Benedetto Castiglioni developed what would become known as espresso – a milk-based beverage which became very popular among Italian nobility because it was easy to make and had a smooth taste. Over time however, other types of beans were used such as Sumatra (which is where Javanese roast their coffee) or African robusta beans which give Ethiopian coffees their distinctive flavor profile. By 1851, Beans Direct had started selling ground coffee through grocery stores in Great Britain and by 1912 they were selling whole bean coffee online too! In 1971, Dutch Schultz founded Starbucks with two friends who thought up the idea when they were on vacation in Amsterdam – they wanted to find a place where they could buy just about anything (except alcohol) so that they could enjoy good quality caffeine without having to worry about costs or environmental impact! Today, Starbucks enjoys more than 127 million customers around the world who rely on its products for morning Joe fixings including lattes,inosas and cappuccinos!
