The current editor of the Reporter is Donny Hagerman and the current publisher is Brenton Ladd. The Daily News was founded on December 1, 1921 by J C Pritchard and published until 1975. In 2005, it merged with the Weekly Times to form one newspaper called Western States Newspapers Incorporated The first high school in Casper was built in 1916 on land donated by Mrs G H Smith. It closed due to lack of enrollment in 1939 but reopened as Northwest High School after World War II. Northwest closed again for good in 1985 but reopened as CASPER HIGHS SCHOOL under new name CASPER COMMUNITY COLLEGE which lasted until 1992 when it became known as Northwestern Community College In 2002, CASPER UNIVERSITY INCORPORATED opened its doors with an initial class size of 350 students
