Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin was founded in 1857 as a small town on the Wisconsin River. It quickly became an important stop on the Great Lakes region and played an important role in the development of American fishing and shipping. The Coast Guard was established in 1917 and has played a significant role in the community ever since. Today, the Coast Guard is responsible for protecting both public safety and maritime interests throughout the Great Lakes region. In addition to its roles within the community, the Coast Guard also provides services to local communities through its Auxiliary Units which provide support such as search and rescue, law enforcement, environmental protection, and humanitarian assistance. The history of Coast Guard gift giving in Wisconsin Rapids can be traced back to 1917 when President Wilson announced plans for a national coast guard. The first gifts were given by local individuals who donated items such as flags, buttons, tools, radios, rifles and pistols. After World War I ended with Japan’s victory over America at Asiatic sea border skirmishes off Korea’s coast (Operation Showa), donations poured into coastal towns throughout America as people looked to give back their country during this difficult time. In 1934-35 President Franklin D. Roosevelt presented 11 governors with gift baskets filled with supplies necessary for coastal towns along America’s coastlines during his “National Coastal Defense Program” speech at Woods Hole Harbor in Massachusetts (see photo). Gifts from local residents continued to pour into coastal towns throughout America through Fundraising drives organized by organizations such as Red Cross or United Way funds generated from sales of postcards mailed home by citizens along America’s coasts asking for money for emergency supplies needed during storm season (1936-37; 1938-39; 1940). During World War II gifts began flowing into coastal communities across America once again due to patriotic sentiment towards our nation’s involvement in that war effort (1941-1945). This time contributions came from all walks of life including business owners who donated food products such as canned goods or gasoline products used by military personnel stationed on our coastline; personal donors who sent flowers ornaments or made monetary contributions; schoolchildren who contributed candy bars or other snacks distributed among troops stationed at various Naval base areas along our coastline; parents whose children served in WWII military service; etc.; even thoseSimply responding “Give me your tired heartiest donation suitable for Christmas present! Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin is a small town located in the central part of the state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,545 at the 2010 census. It is included within the Town of Rockford. The town was platted in 1851 and named after the rapids near its original location. The current name comes from when a company built a dam on the river to irrigate land around it. The town quickly became an agricultural center with large fruit and vegetable crops as well as livestock production. Today,Wisconsin Rapids retains many of its early traditions including its independent school system, church services, and annual "Festival of Lights." In addition to its traditional businesses and amenities, Wisconsin Rapids has developed into anocientric community hosting events focused on art, culture, education and hiking/hiking trails.

Wisconsin Rapids is a village in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 776 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Wisconsin Rapids was platted on November 1, 1847 by subscription from the towns of Sheboygan and Menomonee Falls. The name is derived from the rapids on the Rock River (now called the Arrowhead River). The town's first post office was established in 1849. In 1870, a railroad line was built through Wisconsin Rapids and it became an important commercial center for northwestern Wisconsin. By 1880, many businesses had relocated to larger cities such as Milwaukee or Green Bay but Wisconsin Rapids continued to be a vibrant community with its own school system and hospital. In 1905, local farmers organized a grain elevator and storage business which continues to operate today as First National Grain Storage Company Limited. The town experienced significant economic decline during World War II due to rationing of foodstuffs; however, it bounced back after the war with new development including an airport and Casino Hotel located in nearby Menomonee Falls in 1950-1951 followed by plans for apartment buildings that never came to fruition due to lack of funds. However, by 1990-1991 there had been some redevelopment mixed with reuse of abandoned properties into mixed-use housing developments called "The Landing". In recent years much effort has been made by both local government officials and developers to reestablish what once existed here - most notably with support for building a new large shopping mall anchored by Sears anchors JCPenney banners Macy's Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus - all within easy walking distance of each other - though progress has yet to be made fully onto this ambitious project despite high hopes given its potential benefits for economy growth, jobs creation, sociality buffs etc... A $10 million grant from state incentives program Wisconson Economic Development Authority helped spur some revitalization efforts starting in 2014 when 3 major retailers anchor one side while another phase will see 2 more stores open later this year bringing total count up to 4 anchors
Wisconsin Rapids was founded in 1854 by John P. Mclntyre and is the oldest continuously inhabited town in Wisconsin. The first post office was established here on October 15, 1854. In 1861, the town passed a resolution to secede from Wisconsin and become an independent republic. The secession failed, but the town became a part of the United States of America and continues to be governed by its own government today.
