Whitefish Bay is a small town in the town of Marinette, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,854 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Marinette-Menomonee Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1851 by John White and his family. It was named for whitefish that were found near the bay. In 1907, Whitefish Bay became an incorporated village with a mayor and seven trustees. The village disbanded in 1959. Whitefish Bay is located on the left bank of the Menomonee River adjacent to Marinette County and Door County on its east side and Manitowoc County to its west side. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 3,061 people, 1,542 households, and 814 families residing in the borough. The population density was 692 people per square mile (267/km²). There were 1,786 housing units at an average density of 309 per square mile (135/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 97% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 1% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; 1% from other races; and 2% from two or more races.
