The Wisconsin Air Force Museum is a museum located in Wausau, Wisconsin. It is dedicated to the history of the Wisconsin Air Force and its aircraft. The museum has a collection of over 100 aircraft, many of which are from the World War II era. The museum also has a number of artifacts related to the air force and its history.
The USAF (United States Air Force) is one of the three branches of the United States military. Airlines have long provided transportation for troops deployments around the world; however, this was only possible because we have an interstate system that enables us to move goods quickly and efficiently across state lines. Airfields have also been used as bases for training ground cadres — often called airmen “wings” or “handlers”—for future bomber pilots —a process known as "preparation school" In order to maintain our sphere of operations we need reliable airspace which can be overflown by fighter aircraft and bombers to guide them safely home without danger from enemy fighters or missiles
On Dec. 5, 1941, the United States Air Force (USAF) was formed as a result of the National Defense Act of 1938. The USAF was originally organized as a group of air forces operating under the command of General Douglas MacArthur. After World War II ended in 1945, MacArthur's commands were merged into the newly created USAF and he became its first commander-in-chief. In 1947, General Curtis LeMay replaced MacArthur as USAF leader and throughout his tenure there were significant changes to the organization and mission of the USAF. On July 10, 1951, LeMay activated Operation Paperclip which brought together many American civilian scientists to help build an operational nucleus for what would become NATO. These scientists would later play a major role in developing nuclear weapons technology.
Wausau, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 7,406 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay–West Bend–MILWAUKEE Metropolitan Statistical Area. Wausau is located on the east side of the Mississippi River near its confluence with Lake Michigan and about 15 miles west of Green Bay. The first European to visit what is now Wausau was Jean-Baptiste Point du Sable in 1784 and he named it "Nanaimo". In 1824, George Washington purchased land from David Beatty for $2,000 and set about building a sawmill there which became known as Beatty's Mill. By 1841, when Wausau was incorporated as a town, beatty's mill had been destroyed by fire and replaced by mills belonging to John Doak (1810-1882) and Elijah Richardson (1815-1890). The first post office in Wausau was established in 1836. On July 1, 1850, it changed its name to "Wausau". The current spelling originated with a spelling change made to be more similar to that used by Potawatomi Indians when they were relocated from their traditional home in Northwestern Illinois to what is now badin county, Iowa Territory during the late 19th century. At that time many people believed that all Native Americans spoke one language which they called “Wabash”; this belief persists today among some descendants of those original settlers who live on both sides of the river. In 1858 an act were passed creating four townships within present day Wausau County: Beatty Township on the north side of the river; Chippewa Township on behalf of natives living along Menominee Creek; Ducharme Township on behalf of French Canadians living near Racine; and Canadian West Townships including parts or all ofpresent day Oshkosh and La Crosse counties on account of natural resources such as timberlands lying within their borders In 1860 John Hargrave (1795-1881), owner/operator/builder/contractor for various railroads throughout Minnesota & Wisconsin formed company with fellow business man Daniel Webster (1800-1865) to build & operate a line between Chicago (& Milwaukee), WI & points east via Galesburg (& Rockford), IL Hargrave obtained right OfWay across state line through Nowhere but built much larger road than actually exists today...With acquisition by Union Pacific Railroad Hargrave Road became essential linking Iron Mountain with Chicago(& Milwaukee). After Smoky Hill Mine Explosion Union Pacific discontinued service so large road became unusable But still visible from highway just outside city limitsToday! The community first began hosting events related to agriculture during 1880s when local farmers organized show gardens & fairs attended by other farmers from around area

Wausau is a town in Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,569 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Racine County. The name "Wausau" comes from the Ojibwe word 'wac'a-nuk', meaning "place where they make theiroes". The first permanent settler in what is now Wausau was George Armstrong Custer, who traveled through Wisconsin in 1846 on his way to Indian Territory. He named his new settlement after General John Hotchkiss's Creek (now Chippewa) River colony near present-day Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1848, Captain Lewis Cass recorded a visit by General Winfield Scott and other American leaders at Green Bay and recommended that Congress establish a military post at nearby Wausau to protect travelers on the Milwaukee and Lake Superior Railroad. Construction of the post began in 1850 but it never opened because of financial problems. In 1851, Wausau became a territorial city when Wisconsin became an independent state; it remained so until 1959 when Racine County was created from portions of Manitowoc and La Crosse counties. In 1859, lumberman John Dickey built a sawmill on the south side of Lower Blue Lake and started selling lumber to farmers along the east side of Upper Blue Lake. The mill continued operation until 1912 when it burned down due to arson. A later mill operated for many years near downtown Wausau before being replaced by an ethanol plant in 2000 which caused significant environmental destruction around the area. In 1907, construction began on what would become Racine County courthouse complex; this project was completed in 1908 and served as the county seat until 1959 when Wausau became its own county seat again with newly established Racine County Landfill taking over that role starting in 1960s Racine County has been one of America's most heavily populated counties since its inception with over 60% growth between censuses between 1880 and 1990 – more than any other U.S.-based county outside California or New York City . With over 100 incorporated municipalities within its borders (including such large cities as Green Bay, Madison Heights/Stoutville/Sheboygan Falls/Watertown/Kenosha), Racine County has seen some major development projects over time including: numerous shopping malls (Mall #1 & Mall #2), freeway extensions (I-94 & I-895), healthcare facilities (Klenz Hospital & Brown Memorial Hospital), high school sports stadiums (Pawtucket Valley High School Stadium & Northland Veterans Memorial Coliseum), numerous parks including Menomonee Parklands National Wildlife Refuge & Kinzey Park ,and countless smaller developments . The town of Wausau, Wisconsin was founded in 1847 by the brothers Isaac and Jacob Wisniewski. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the east side of the Mississippi River, and by 1850 it had a population of around 800 people. In 1854, Wausau became the capital of Wisconsin Territory. In 1861, Wausau was annexed by the city of Milwaukee.
