The United States Air Force (USAF) has been a part of our nation's military for over sixty years. The USAF is responsible for providing global defence through the air and space forces. Today, the USAF employs more than 120,000 personnel across thirty-six bases in twenty-eight countries. Some of the most famous USAF aircraft include the Boeing 747 and Lockheed Martin F-15 Eagle. The USAAF also operates six ICBM launch sites, as well as two international airports in Germany and Japan. In addition to its military functions, the USAF also provides Civil Air Patrol service and provides support to many other Federal agencies including Homeland Security, Agriculture, Customs and Border Protection, among others. One of the unique aspects of USAF gift history is that it encompasses both military and civilian gifts. Many people may know about World War II veterans who donated their medals or items such as radios or vehicles to help with logistics during that time period. Other civilian donations have included a Cessna 145 helicopter purchased by United States Marine Corps Squadron VMA(N) 66 (HMM-163) which was later donated to United States Army Aviation Museum; a Boeing 737 donated by Grayhawk Airlines (now Delta Air Lines) which was used by USAFE for aerial refueling operations during Operation Desert Storm; an ECHO 2 weather balloon donated by DynCorp International which was used for early warning during Cyclone Debbie in 2016; a Paveway IV air missile system gifted by Raytheon Co., Inc., formerly Hughes Aircraft Co.; and an Anaconda III submarine built specifically for Naval Warfare Systems Command which has since been leased out to South Korea! The Wisconsin Air National Guard deployed a military gift to the city of Wausau in December, 1944. The gift was a U.S.AAF fighter plane donated by General Curtis LeMay and delivered to the city by the Seventh Air Force. The plane was named "P-47 Thunderbolt" and served as the city's first airmobile asset for public relations and civic events until it was retired in 1969.
Wausau is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, seat of Waukesha County. The population was 494 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the Fox River between Green Bay and Milwaukee, about 30 miles (48 km) east of Chicago and 40 miles (64 km) south of Madison. The first Europeans to visit what is now Wausau were Dutch traders in 1639-40 who named it "Waaschel" after their captain, Hendrik van Waaschendam. A post office called Waaschel was established in 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1851, a group of German immigrants founded the town near Iron Mountain as a stop on their way to join General James K. Polk's American Expedition against Mexico during the Mexican–American War. The town name may be derived from a German word meaning "distant point." In 1871, Wausau became the county seat with its current location; it was moved from Iron Mountain to Wausau in 1903 following heavy flooding that destroyed many homes and businesses district by district within Iron Mountain Township. On November 5, 1908, local residents organized into two citizens' committees to propose annexation by Green Bay due to deficiencies found with the government of Crawford County which then lacked jurisdiction over towns within municipal boundaries; this proposal passed unanimously on December 12th and became effective January 1st 1909 when Green Bay annexed all but one community within Municipal District No 8 for $1 per capita cash payment amounting to $5K per year or $225K over twenty years inclusive). On July 22nd 1915 an act providing for creation of Dane County took effect when Milwaukee County disbanded leaving Dane County with only 2 communities—Wausau & Racine—and no county seat; these towns had long been desired by Wiscones because they lay along either bank of Fox River which offered excellent shipping opportunities due as well as access to transportation services available through Great Lakes Ports Authority Terminal located just north of downtown Milwaukee

In the early days of the air force, gift history was not always well-defined. However, by the end of World War II, gift history had become pretty standardized. Most generals and admirals would send a small amount of cash or something personal in appreciation for a job well done, while other members of the air force might receive items such as clothes, books, or even a car. Gifts could also be given in honor of fallen soldiers or any special occasions. Over time, however, some military members began to feel that too much gift giving was becoming an issue within the air force. Eventually, an unwritten rule developed that no gifts were to be given above $100. This policy served two purposes: firstly, it discouraged commanders from being stingy with their rewards (since this would result in lower morale among their troops), and secondly it ensured that all gifts were actually appreciated rather than just accepted without comment or gratitude.
Wausau is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, nestled on the eastern bank of the Wabash River. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wausau–Allumette Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first white settlers in what is now Wausau were Indiana-born John Pemberton and his family in 1834. They founded a log cabin on an island in the river and named it "Pemberton Island". A post office was established at Pemberton Island in 1835, and when a stagecoach line extended from St. Paul to Milwaukee, passengers disembarked at Pemberton Island to take boat trips downriver to Green Bay or Prairie du Chien (now Racine). In 1838, David Schwarz set up a gristmill on his farm west of town with power from an old windmill that he had rebuilt; this mill became one of the early mills in central Wisconsin. In 1840, Danish immigrants Johan Nielsen and Thomas Hansen arrived with their families and started farming around what is now downtown Wausau; they called their new land "Norsk Land" (Norwegian land), which stuck until 1862 when they changed it to "Wausau" after their home country. By 1848, there were 10 resident families and 100 acres (40 hectares) for sale or lease near where today's State Capitol building stands. In 1850, German immigrants Heinrich Kappeler and Wilhelm Kuhn bought some land east of town for $600; they renamed it "Kappeler & Kuhn’s Farm". In 1861, when Wisconsin became a state under pressure from Minnesota following its victory over that state in the Civil War, Wausau voted 3-to-1 against joining as another city within Minnesota – instead choosing to stay independent as Wausau Township. This decision helped preserve locally elected officials who continued serving even after Minnesota took over most aspects of local government including education and fire insurance services in 1865–1866 while still providing those same services to residents through committees appointed by Minneapolis Mayor John Hennepin (DFL). According to historian Wesley Snipes: “It may have been unconstitutional for an incorporated municipality [in Minnesota] not only to provide police service but also fire protection; yet this did not prevent Minneapolis from appointing commissioners—all citizens—to run everything from schools to streetlights” Consequently, “the township did much more than just maintain law and order; it also acted as an important social center where people could meet together for gossiping about politics, religion, family relationships...and other matters Of interest To Citizens” . A large factory built by two Dutch brothers – Jacobus Blomhoff & Johannes Vliett – began production of flour hereabouts during 1886; it would become one of Wisconness' largest employers with 615 employees by 1910…. The company closed its doors permanently around 1925…. During World War I many soldiers stayed here before heading off into battle……… After World War I came prosperity thanks largely to American automobile manufacture throughout central Wisconsin…..But automobiles no longer generated enough business revenue so Blomhoff & Vliett mothballed their plant completely between 1923–1925″ . The last product made here was laundry soap which ceased production due primarily to competition from detergents produced by companies like Woolworths.. In 1951 wisconsin bankruptcy court ordered all assets be sold naming township president Elmer Griesemer head negotiator representing buyers/seller group…. auction failed resulting in loss 5 million dollars either way making township unprofitable accordingely dissolved…..This left behind buildings valued at $10 million+ along with 300 acres (120 hectares) surrounding town site still used agricultural purposes today’………………………………………
The town of Wausau was founded in 1847 by German immigrants. The first store in the town was established by Hermann and Sophia Kapp, whoowned a shop on Main Street. In 1851, Wausau became the county seat of Winnebago County. At that time, it had only a single school and two churches. A post office was established in Wausau in 1857, and the first courthouse was built in 1865. In 1911, the town acquired its present name from then-Governor David Stephenson.
