In 2007-2008, a store called Two Guns opened up and it became one of the most popular stores in town for handguns as well as ammo for those weapons. In 2013-2014, another store called Crosmanopened up which served pistols along with other supplies such as reloading supplies for those guns as well as accessories for those weapons like sights or stocks. Over time these stores have become known for their particular brand or type of gun they sell with many locals often referring to them simply as “their shop” or “that place” when they are located within walking distance from home or work.

Waupun is a small town in the southwestern corner of Wisconsin. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Dodge County. Waupun is located on the banks of the Kawkabeen River and has a humid continental climate. The first Europeans to visit what is now Waupun were French traders in 1673-74, who named it La Crosse-Niles because they found a creek there called Niles. A post office was established at Waupun in 1854, and by 1875 it had become known as Dodge City. In 1907, Dodge County was divided into Dodge and Racine counties, which reduced its population to 653 people; however, this number grew rapidly due to new development in that area. By 1970, when it merged with Racine County to form Racine County again, Waujun had reached its current size of 1,851 residents. Waupun's economy depends heavily on agriculture and ranching; but other industries have also been developed over time such as manufacturing (particularly textiles), services (including health care and social assistance), retail trade, and tourism. The town also has an educational institution—the University of Wisconsin–Waupun—and several parks including Lacrosse Park and Area Lakefront Park are popular tourist destinations for boating, fishing, swimming and skiing. One significant event that occurred during the early years of Waujun's history was the 1916 dedication of Sibley Dam by Govt Of WI & US In memoryof Capts Wilhelm Sibley & others who died while serving us w/ distinction w/o recognition or pensions

Waupun is a town in the Calumet County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,912 at the 2010 census. The name of the town is from French for "wedge" or "protector". It was first settled by German immigrants in 1836. Waupun was founded as a post office in 1837. The first settler named John Wauspack was born in Germany on December 7, 1836. The first store in Waupun opened on Main Street in 1840 and soon became a popular spot for buying goods near the river. In 1862, when Wisconsin organized as a state, it included Waupun as one of its towns and it quickly grew into an important center for commerce and culture. During World War I, Waupun served as an army depot and assembly point for soldiers coming through the area; this role helped make Waupunki one of the most heavily populated areas in the state during that time period. In 1922, when Wisconsin became a junior stateside republic, it added Waupun to its list of cities and towns within its borders – making it one of only two such cities (the other being Milwaukee) located within both Wisconsin’s newly created borders. The city's growth continued during World War II with its designation as an airfield training center; however, much of today's downtown development took place after 1945 whenWI adoptedomic legislation which allowed municipalities to create more self-reliant economic systems without prior county or state government approval Since 2000, much redevelopment has occurred downtown including new stores & restaurants along with major renovations to many buildings dating back to1837 including: First Methodist Episcopal Church (now known as Cathedral), Masonic Temple/Hall (now known as Parker Hall), St John’s Baptist Church (now known as Christ Lutheran Church), Masonic Lodge #3 (now known as Third National Bank building), Post Office Building #1 (now known as Verizon Center). Many historical landmarks have been preserved like First Methodist Episcopal Church where services are still held each Sunday morning at 8am local time (& now serve commercial functions too!). It should be noted that some things have changed over time e.g., WI statute provides funds are available from appropriation rather than general fund so certain changes may not always reflect local opinion but remain true under current law!
The town of Waupun was founded in 1835 by John L. Goodrich and his wife, Martha. The first post office in the town was established in 1839. It was renamed Goodrichville in 1853. In 1865, the town became a city and was incorporated as Waupun on December 12, 1865.
