Waupun is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the seat of Waupun County. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The name "Waupun" comes from an Ojibwe word meaning "the place where the wild rice grows." The first white person to set foot in what is now Waupun was Samuel Morse on September 25, 1834, when he came across a small Dakota Indian village hunting buffalo on his way from Ottawa to Green Bay. Morse named this new settlement for General John A. Brooke, commander of American forces in Canada during the War of 1812 and one of President James K. Polk's advisors during that conflict. In 1835, two years after Morse's visit, mechanics trading with the Indians built a log cabin near present-day downtown Waupun and called it Prairie du Chien; this cabin served as the first permanent structure in what would become Waupun. In 1840, Isaac Brockman settled down around present-day Streeterville and began to farm land east of town along what are now State Highway #41 (now US 12). He also opened up a store there which became known as Brockman's Grocery & Mercantile Establishment No.. 2 (later renamed First National Bank). When he died in 1852, his heirs sold 1/4 mile (0.6 km) northwest of today's downtown to George Hultgren for $1 cash and 10 wagonloads (valued then at $10 million) worth of rawhide! This may have been the first purchase by Hultgren himself from any Native American group west of Iowa! In 1853–54, about 20 Germans founded a farmstead just south-west of downtown Waupunkuon Township under leadership provided by August Schulz von Ziegler—a member committee appointed by Governor Simon Johnson to investigate German activity eastward along Lake Michigan shoresline leading into Wisconsin Territory—and discovered coal seams underneath nearby rural land donated by Captain Augustus Calkins opposite modern day Menomonee Falls railway station on Credit River north-east side feeder creek draining directly into Big Muddy River below Menomonee Falls Dam Reservoirsite stream valley floor according Bethel Township map dated Jun 1830[ Map caption ] . There is no one answer to this question, as the history of coffee is vast and various. However, some general trends can be observed: Coffee was first brewed in small villages and towns throughout the world before gradually spreading to larger cities; coffee became more popular in the 19th century as a result of its ties to religion, nationalism, and fashion; and coffee beans were first grown in Africa and then Latin America. While there are many variations of each type of coffee bean, all have their own unique flavor and aroma.

In the early 1800s, coffee began to be grown in areas that are now known as Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Yemen. These beans were roasted by farmers who would take their morning break from working in the fields to enjoy a cup of hot coffee.
