In 1932, Mrs. Florence Olson donated two cases of poor quality French roast beans to The Village Coffee Shop on Washington Avenue in Waukesha. This establishment later became known as The Dutch Cafe which continues to serve up excellent coffee today! In 1977, Mrs. Barbara Kapp gave six sacks of Italian roasted beans to The Village Coffee Shop as a gift! Waukesha, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state ofWisconsin and the county seat of Winnebago County. The population was 34,865 at the 2010 census. Waukesha was founded in 1846 by American fur trader George Armstrong Custer and his partner David Hennepin. It became a town in 1857, and was named for John Waukeshaw, an early settler. The first post office in Waukesha opened on October 15, 1847. The town was incorporated as a city on November 3, 1908. On February 14, 1915, Waukesha was renamed Milwaukee after Field Marshal Sir John mobile Moltke who had served as Governor of India from 1888 to 1912 and then as Ambassador to Japan from 1914 to 1918. Milwaukee is also home to Marquette University which has its main campus in downtown Milwaukee while its student center is located on Oak Street near the riverfront. Waukesha's economy has been based largely on agriculture with some light manufacturing and service sectors since it began growing as a municipality in 1908. Manufacturing products have included munitions during World War II and other military-related items; however most recent growth has come from professional services such as health care work done by physicians or dentists working out of clinics or hospitals across the metropolitan area
