In 1903 the navy Yard became a Bureau of Ships and in 1916 it became an Admiralty Ship Yards. The present navy yard has a total area of over 510 acres, including a shipyard, dry dock, and workshops for naval vessels both large and small. Today’s fleet includes nearly sixty warships and submarines from eighteen countries.

Verona, Wisconsin is a small town located in the town of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The population was 1,721 at the 2010 census. The first European to visit what is now Verona was French explorer and fur trader Pierre Marquette in 1805. In 1837, a post office called Prairie du Chien was established in what is now Verona. The community name may have been derived from "vernacula" or "verdure." In 1857, the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad arrived in Verona and began construction of its line eastward from Green Bay. This increased trade and traffic through the community which led to more people moving intoVerona during this time period. In 1893, the first school opened in Verona after being built by local businessman John Fenton on land donated by his father-in-law Jens Hansenbeck. By 1905, there were two schools in Verona with thirteen students each gradeschools (elementary). In 1916, the first water tower was established here when city fathers decided it would be easier for them to provide water services if they had a public water system available rather than having to purchase individual faucets from each homeowner. The number of residents continue to grow throughout this century as new businesses moved into Verona such as First American Bank (now Wells Fargo), Ford dealership and other manufacturers who needed space large enough for their production plants but not so much that they lost sight of their customers or became too busy with their own operations that they neglected their customers within the community; this type of customer service is often referred to as “community policing” today (). One significant event that took place while residents were growing up was World War II which resulted in many jobs being created across the state including fifty positions at Ford Motor Company’s assembly plant just outside of town afterWARFII . However due to WWII military stationed here then relocating back out again many jobs went unfilled resulting in an overall decrease over time for manufacturing industry across Wisconsin however some companies did maintain production until recently such as Boeing/Alcoa which are still located miles away fromVeronica today just outside Mishawaka WI
Verona was founded in 1854 by John A. Verona and his wife, Emma. The town had a population of about 100 people when it was platted in 1855. In the early years of the town's existence, there were few businesses and most residents lived on farms or worked as farmhands. However, over time, Verona grew into a small but important community with a rich history. The first settler to arrive in Verona was John Palmer who arrived in November 1854. Palmer built a log cabin near the present day intersection of High Street and Fonthill Road. He later sold his land to Samuel Haines who built a two-story frame house on the property in 1865. Henry Kapp established a grocery store in Verona in 1870 and operated it until he closed shop in 1915. George Wickersham ran the hardware store from 1889 to 1906. Wickersham is credited with being one of the first merchants to open up business along High Street in Verona. In 1905, Vera Joesephine Ziegler moved to Verona from Milwaukee with her husband Julius Ziegler Jr., also an immigrant from Wisconsin’s upper Midwest region. They started their own grocery store on Main Street where they continued operating it until their death in 1957. Mrs Ziegler is buried at Elmwood Cemetery next to her husband Julius Jr.. In 1916, Harry Weiser set up shop as an ice cream parlor on State Street between Main and Elm Streets after moving from Chicago Heights, Illinois. Weiser's parlor became well-known for its delicious ice cream flavors which continue to be enjoyed by locals today! In 1928, local restaurateur Artie Bischoff opened his popular restaurant Artie's Blue Ribbon located at 9 E Jackson St.. The restaurant quickly became known for its delicious food and unique atmosphere which has been preserved intact today! Artie Bischoff is currently celebrated as one of Wisconsin's most influential businessmen!
