Gourmet Coffee History in Verona, Wisconsin began in the early 1970s with a small coffee shop on Third Street. The store was started by Wayne and Kathy Hegarty, who were the founders of the now defunct Hegarty's Coffee Company. Gourmet Coffee became a prominent brand in the Milwaukee-Wisconsin area and around the world. In 1984, Gourmet Coffee opened its first store outside of Milwaukee at 608 North 42nd Street in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, Gourmet Coffee merged with Peet's Coffee & Tea to form Peet's Group LLC. This company operated over 100 stores throughout North America and Europe until it was sold to Nestle SA in 2016 for $3 billion. Today, Gourmet Coffee continues to be published under three different names: Gourmandise (Canada), Grande Marnier (France), and Café Noir (Italy).

The first coffeehouse in Verona opened in 1854. In 1861, the first post office inVerona opened. The present day Verona Coffee Co., Incorporated was established in 1936 by Dutch Schultz and his sons Edward and Frank.
Verona is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 7,611 at the 2010 census, and 8,070 as of 2017. It is part of the Green Bay–Winnebago metropolitan area. In 1836, Verona became the seat of government for Racine County following its incorporation by the United States federal government as Racine County on July 1, 1836. On December 31, 1851, Racine County was merged into Milwaukee County and Verona became the county seat of Milwaukee County. The first settler in what would become Verona was John Davenport in 1837. He built a log cabin on the east side of present-day Delaware Avenue and named it "Davenport's Grove". A post office called Davenport had been established in 1835 but never opened because no mail arrived from there until after Wisconsin statehood on August 14th, 1848. The first settlers were led by Isaac Deitsch who organized a wagon road from Wausau to Green Bay which he called "the Via Deutschland" (German Trail). By 1840 about 175 Germans lived in Verona with 30 businesses functioning under German auspices including three flour mills; one tannery; one bakery; one grocery store; two sawmills; four taverns and five churches affiliated with Lutheranism (later Anhaltisch theology). One resident recalled that “a long procession” consisting mostly of men came trooping through town every day to buy groceries at local stores then carry them home across town to their house before dinner where they enjoyed an early supper before taking up reading around bedtime – all without ever leaving their homes! This community spirit can be seen throughout much of rural America during this time period when towns were often more interested in supporting their own residents than becoming involved with larger settlements nearby or joining grower/manufacturer associations that could provide support for goods exportations such as lumber or other materials being produced within commuting distance like Chicago or St Louis Missouri! In 1840 John Hickey immigrated to America with his wife Anna and children John Jr., Margaret (born circa1841), Michael (born circa1843), Sarah Ellen(born c1845)and Nathanial Gage from Germany via Hollandia on May 11th aboard the ship SS Nieuw Amsterdam anchored off Lisbon Portugal having left Hamburg 3 days earlier carrying over 400 passengers bound for Stockton California!!! All very excited my parents went along too….. Upon landing we walked down to customs where we got our tickets and bags unpacked……..We soon learned that everyone else disembarking same as us except our father & mother who had already gone ahead on board another vessel…. After clearing immigration procedings we started walking back up river towards our old home which turned out to be only 4 blocks away from today’s corner….After walking all around today neighborhood I am confident that not one brick nor mortar remains!!!! We arrived back at [house name] just prior to dark…had a delicious meal cooked by Anna & her husband….It was so beautiful driving home late at night behind those big white American trucks filled with stars…. Most anytime now thoughts about those days bring me right back here surrounded by family history memories….. Today is also my birthday so happy birthday Veronaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

The first Starbucks café was actually opened by two friends who pooled their money and bought a small truckload of ground beans. They started selling pre-packaged drinks (like iced lattes) and soon began importuning other local businesses into providing them with their own grounds and beans. It wasn’t until 1978 when Starbucks began selling actual coffeebeans themselves! And this is actually where things really took off – over the next few years they began franchising their cafes all over the United States, becoming one of the most popular caffeine providers in town! It wasn’t just Starbucks who tookoff – many other large companies followed suit, starting chain stores like Dunkin Donuts and KFC which quickly became industry geniuses with their unique flavors and designs! And although we may now think of espresso as something pretty extravagant or even niche within society – back then it definitely WASN’T anything like what we enjoy today!

Verona, Wisconsin is a town in Walworth County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,901 at the 2010 census. The village of Verona was incorporated in 1892. The first settler in what is now Verona was John Fenton who arrived on October 10, 1853. He built a log cabin on the north side of the present day village square. The settlement grew quickly and by 1875 there were twenty-six residents living in four homes. In 1892 "Village of Verona" incorporation was enacted to provide for better management of the affairs of the small community. In 1902 two new schools were dedicated and named after Mrs. Anna J Foxworthy (1864-1937) and Dr. Alonzo S Hoyle (1868-1952). Mrs. Foxworthy had been instrumental in helping found Milwaukee's first high school and served as its first headmistress from 1906 until her death in 1937; Dr. Hoyle became its second headmistress when he took over from Mrs. Foxworthy in 1952. During World War II many local businesses supported military efforts with items like gasoline and munitions produced here including Merton Manufacturing Company which manufactured tanks and artillery pieces for both Allied and Axis forces during World War II; it closed its doors permanently around 1945 due to changes within the industry that came about as a result of war technologies advancements such as jet engines etc.; however some remnants remain today such as Merton Tank Museum which exhibits original models, turrets, tracks/axles etc.; it also has an exhibit on Wartime Verona Village life entitled "From Peace to Combat: A History of Merton Tank Museum." After VE Day (the end of World War II) following Victory Over Japan spirit prevailed throughout much of America where downtowns still looked much like they did before Pearl Harbor; this included Second City shopping center near Lake Michigan having American flags flying from store windows all weekend long while Japanese flags flew at half mast inside buildings;; however similar behavior wasn't seen outside downtowns so shops reopened Monday morning without incident.- Formerly known as "Verona Plaza" downtown business owners held their usual Monday morning open house starting at 5am to show appreciation for everyone who fought during WWII
