Air Force Deployed Gift History in Suamico, Wisconsin began in the early 1950s when the United States Air Force established a gift history program to commemorate military installations and service members who have made an impact on the community. The program continues to this day and is now called the “Air Force Deployed Gift History Awards Program”. The first recipient of the Air Force Deployed Gift History Awards Program was Sergeant First Class Norma J. Kapp of the 9th Bomb Wing at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. On December 3, 1951, Sergeant Kapp gave a Christmas gift to her fellow serviceman at Seymour Johnson AFB before she deployed with her unit overseas for Operation Overlord. Since its inception, the Air Force Deployed Gift History Awards Program has honored more than 4,000 individuals from all branches of our military who have given back to their communities through donation of items or services. These awards are bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication to their country and/or local community by donating items or services that benefit others within their area of duty or hometown. Throughout its history, the Air Force Deployed Gift History Awards Program has been critical in helping small towns across America build relationships with their military installations and support organizations. The United States Air Force Deployed a Gift History in Suamico, Wisconsin on July 11, 2017. The USAF unit deployed a Ground-based Interceptor Missile system and three EC-130J Hercules aircraft as part of Operation Noble Eagle. This gift history marks the first time the USAF has deployments of these types of aircraft to Western Wisconsin since the early 1990s and also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Suamico Airport.
Suamico is located in the town of Madison, Wisconsin. The population was 4,564 at the 2000 census. It is a small town with a strong community spirit. The Suamico Community Foundation was founded in 2001 by Mayor Tom Ritchie and Mrs. Dianne Kapp. The foundation provides funding for local programs such as arts and culture, education, cancer research and health care. The Suamico Lions Club has been active for over 50 years and sponsors numerous events throughout the year including an annual fall festival and Christmas Open House. solicits donations from the public to support their charity efforts which include providing access to healthy foods to families in need, rescuing animals during holidays season and more.
The United States Air Force (USAF) deploys a wide variety of gifts to its service members and civilians throughout the world, some of which have been very longstanding and significant. The USAF has even created its own unique gift history, which can be traced back to World War II. In 1938, the USAF founded theOperation Gift Plan program to provide benefits for military personnel and their families during World War II. This was followed by Operation Christmas Tree in 1945, which gave away more than 4,000 items to soldiers and civilians around the world. In 1951, the USAF introduced the National Defense Stock Exchange (NDSE), which allowed citizens from across America to trade goods they had acquired military-related items or equipment for other supplies or services. This system later became known as The Pentagon Exchange System (PES). In 1978, The Boeing Company donated over 1 million pounds of airplane parts and components to support USAAF operations worldwide. Additionally, in 1984, Dassault Aviation donated nearly 2 million Euros worth of Eurocopters for use by USAF forces around the world. In 1990, Lockheed Martin Corporation donated nearly 5 million dollars worth of advanced helicopters to support USAAF operations in Europe during Operation Desert Storm. These donations were soon followed by contributions from Raytheon Co., McDonnell Douglas Corp., Northrop Grumman Corporation and General Electric Co., among others. Through these various donations and initiatives, it was clear that philanthropy was an important part of USAF culture at this time. One particular donation that has become highly prominent within USAF gift history is the deployment gift known as The Emperor's New Clothes. This gift was given in 1992 by then-President George H W Bush to celebrating members of Congress who were working on authorizing funds for Gulf War I efforts when he discovered that Saddam Hussein had hidden weapons of mass destruction inside his countrymen’s clothing! It is interesting to note that this particular deployment gift actually predates many other similar gifts bestowed upon service members and their families during recent wars such as Iraq or Afghanistan – it is simply a newer example with a longer history attached thereto! As such, it forms part of a larger trend where different entities contribute material or cash towards deployments both domestically and abroad; something that has made giving back so important to both individuals within US society as well as our Armed Forces overall!

The first hospital in town was built in 1922. In 1936, the town of Suamico incorporated as a village. The first Village Hall was built in 1937. On November 11, 1949,Suamico became a city and on December 3rd of that year the Mayor and Council were elected for four years at-large with staggered terms. The City Council is made up of five members who serve three-year terms and are not re-elected to continue serving after being term expired; however they may be reappointed by the Mayor during their next terms if they so desire On May 15th of 2009,Suamico voters passed an ordinance establishing a city government with its own budget and executive authority over all other city government departments save for fire protection and public works which remain under the jurisdiction of the original village council The mayor currently is Dan Sadowski
