The Plover Dam is a concrete and masonry dam on the Fox River in southeastern Wisconsin. Tactical coffee history can be traced back to the early days of the coffee industry. In 1824, a group of enterprising Swissmen founded a small coffee plantation in what is now Nicaragua. This was the first time that coffee was grown and traded in Central America. The men were able to start brewing their own coffee because they had access to quality beans from Africa. They named their new enterprise "Coffee Company Nicaraguan" and began shipping their beans all over Central America. In 1830, Coffee Company Nicaraguan became part of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The VOC wanted to expand its trade routes into the New World and so it purchased Coffee Company Nicaraguan for $10,000. At this point, Coffee Nicaraguan started exporting espresso beans all over Central America. It also began importing French press machines which allowed it to produce high-quality cups of espresso. The Dutch East India Company soon tired of monopoly control by its Swiss partners and decided to sell off its share in Coffee Nicaraguan in 1839. This left Nicaragua with two French presses, one from the VOC and one from a rival company called Sulphur Brothers Ltd.. These two presses continued production until 1845 when both companies went bankrupt due to economic recession in Europe at that time. This left Nicaragua with just one french press which remained operational until 1895 when it was destroyed by an earthquake. Nicolás de Narváez y Arellano founded La Cancha del Oro in 1846 as an attempt to revive Argentina's coffee industry following years of political instability caused by warring factions within society between Spanish colonists on one side and criollo bankers on the other side (the Buenos Aires banking families controlled much of Argentinean politics). La Cancha del Oro became successful at cultivating more than 3 million hectares (10% of Argentinian land) producing 2 million pounds per year worth of roasted black beans before being bought out by Antonio José de la Rúa y López-Carvajal y Quiroga in 1865 for $1 millionUSD! La Cancha del Oro would continue operations under new management until 1938 when it closed down due to World War II bombings raids!!!

However, because coffee beans were expensive and rare, it took many years for coffee to reach its present popularity. In 1847, when Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano discovered New Guinea, he brought back some large Crateresque beans with him as proof that coffee could be grown there. The first espresso machine was invented in Italy in 1912 by Luigi Bezzera.
Plover is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the Fox River. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1854 by Pierre Charles L’Enfant and named for English Plovers that he had seen when he toured the United States as part of hisTown Planning Commission assignment. The first settler to arrive was John Bohanan, who built a log cabin on the south side of the river in 1855. In 1866, When Wisconsin became a state, Plover changed its name to Racine because it had been offered as a location for Milwaukee County's new courthouse. In 1888, Racine seceded from Milwaukee County and joined together with other towns in Whatcom County to form Dane County. In 1954, Racine merged with neighboring Appleton to form what is now known as Appleton-Racine-Waukesha Combined Statistical Area (CSA). At that time, Appleton-Racine-Waukesha was one of the most populous CSAs in the country with over 100 thousand residents. In 1971, Waukesha County merged into Racine County and Plover's status as a separate town reverted back to that of an unincorporated community within Racine County
In 1851, the United States bought the Plover Patent from the French for $10,000. The patent covered a new way to farm land in Wisconsin.
