The history of the coast guard in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin goes back to 1881. The first Coast Guard station in the town was built on State Highway 10. It functioned as a port of call for fishing boats and was also used to search for lost sailors. In 1923, the first Coast Guard unit was stationed in Pleasant Prairie when it became a part of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. In 1931, the station moved to its current location on State Highway 10 and continued serving as a checkpoint for boat traffic until 1975. Since 1978, when the state of Wisconsin took over operation of the Coast Guard, Pleasant Prairie has been home to one of its three stations responsible for patrolling Wisconsin's shorelines and ports. This Station is also responsible for providing security at local events such as train shows or soccer games. Today, there are three Coast Guardsmen stationed in Pleasant Prairie - one who patrols State Highway 10 andtwo who provide security at local events like train shows or soccer games. Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin is a small town in the Ozaukee County area of west-central Wisconsin. The population was 1,341 at the 2000 census. The community is located on the south side of Milwaukee River between Racine and Waukesha counties. It lies near the center of Ozaukee County and the city of Milwaukee. The first occupants in Pleasant Prairie were German farmers who came to the area in 1847 from Iowa. They built a log cabin on a hill overlooking what is now Ohlone Lake. The first post office was established in 1852, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1893. The first schoolhouse was built about 1870 and served as a public school for students from Pleasant Prairie, Racine, Waukesha, and other nearby towns until 1915 when it became known as Schools 10 through 16 Elementary School. It then became known as Pleasant Prairie Junior High School before becoming Pleasant Prairie High School after that year's merger of Ozaukee County high schools into Milwaukee Public Schools; it remains an all-male institution today. Pleasant Prairie has had several churches Built around thee: First Lutheran Church (1867), Second Lutheran Church (1912), United Methodist Church (1920), Evangelical Lutheran Synod Presbyterian Church (1935). There are also Jehovah's Witnesses meetings being held there currently although this church building will be torn down soon because they have outgrown their current spaceThere are also some carnival games going on there currently like rock paper scissors etc... which usually attract people from surrounding areas
The Coast Guard was founded in 1915 as the United States Coast Guard Reserve. The first corps of coast guard officers were commissioned on December 14, 1915. The Coast Guard Auxiliary was organized on July 1, 1942. On November 15, 1948, the Revenue Cutter Service (CRS) was transferred to the Coast Guard from the Department of Commerce and Labor. On October 25, 1951, the Coast Guard did not have any vessels available for its annual fleet review which led to a call for proposals for a new fleet of patrol boats and cutter types. Nine companies submitted proposals with different designs that were evaluated by Captain James W Biddle who recommended that Philadelphia-built icebreakers be used instead of returning ocean-going ships. This decision marked the beginning of an era where new coastal guard vessels would serve more than one purpose along much of the United States coastline. In 1971, responsibility for all aspects of law enforcement including music policing and marine patrols was transferred from NOAA to the newly created Bureau of Law Enforcement Services within CEPS (later renamed Homeland Security). In 2002 DHS merged with ICE to form Customs and Border Protection which absorbed all responsibilities for law enforcement along our southern border except traffic control while CEPS continued to provide maritime patrols off our coasts until 2004 when they were disbanded due to budget cuts. In 2006 CBP reorganized their entire organization following recommendations from then Secretary Janet Napolitano who wanted a central command structure with single representatives in each agency responsible for directive management across all sectors aware of threats posed by smugglers as well as terrorism suspects crossing into America through Mexico City or other points near our borders Since then there has been a steady increase in both funding AND equipment utilized by CBP especially given their mission at home & abroad

Pleasant Prairie is one of the oldest towns in the state of Wisconsin and it has a rich history that goes back to when it was founded. The town was named after a pleasant valley which lay near where it now stands. In 1872, John P. Hickey bought land near what is now Pleasant Prairie and built a home there. He quickly became known as the father of the town because he had such an impact on its development. Over time, Pleasant Prairie grew into a large community with many businesses and homes. It remained an important part of the local economy until after World War II when agriculture took over as its mainstay. However, since then, many new businesses have opened up in Pleasure Prairie including health care services and retail stores. Today, Pleasant Prairie continues to be a strong community with many residents who continue to contribute to its success story. They are proud of their history and feel that their village has always been able to make a positive impact on those around them.
