The Enterprise was their first deployment since the end of World War II, and it was one of the most difficult deployments they had ever been through. It took over three months for them to get back home after being deployed 800 miles away from their families. In addition, they had to face high levels of stress and anxiety while en route to the warzone. The crew was also awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for their heroism during this deployment. The USS Abraham Lincoln also deployed to Desert Storm in 1991. However, this deployment was much different than most other navy deployments because it involvedporting nuclear weapons into Saudi Arabia as part ofOperation Neptune’s Spear. This action caused great controversy within the navy due to its potential consequences for both national security and international relations; however, the ship arrived safely back home with all its passengers intact on July 16th 1993 after completing more than 1,500 miles across five days at sea without incident. Platteville, Wisconsin is a town in the Woods County seat of Douglas, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 6,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1854 as a farmstead on the east side of what is now known as White River. It grew rapidly during the years following World War I and became an official town in 1927. The first settler in Platteville was John Henson, who arrived from Ohio in 1824 and built a cabin on what is now Main Street. He and his family were followed soon after by James Worthy and his wife Elizabeth (née Clark). Worthy had come to America from Yorkshire, England in 1820 and shortly afterward purchased 640 acres (2 ha) of land north of the river near present-day Park Avenue and White River Road. In 1830 he married Sarah Goodrich, daughter of Nicholas Goodrich of Green Bay. Together they established a small community called Shop-N-Gather on their holdings around what is today North Main Street and First Avenue. James Worthy also acquired 8 acres (3 ha) south of platteville site along with another parcel to provide future road access to his new settlement; this land formed later incorporated into the current platteville site as Wellesley Road (). In 1854 local resident George Stephenson donated 1 acre (40 m²) for use as a public square within Platteville village limits – it would become known as Stephenson Square () – which became one of its most popular attractions for holidaymakers visiting the village during its early years (). In July 1861 local resident Amos Badger donated 500 pounds (227 kg) worth of goods including livestock to support two military campaigns waged by Union forces against Confederate forces occupying Missouri (); these contributions helped swell both sides’ stockpiles significantly ahead of September 1861 Ulysses S Grant's ill-fated " Peninsula Campaign ". After American victory over Confederate armies at Battle Of Stones River (), Badger resumed giving generously to Union causes; he died unmarried at age 82 years old in 1865 while still living within sight or touch of home (). On December 12th 1870 Isaac Whitney donated 100 acres (39 ha) adjoiningBadger's original donation plus an additional 10 acres (4ha), making him one millionth owner thereof (), creating Whitney Township (). This changeover represented not only significant expansion but also Waldo Emerson's admission that Plainfield Township () should have been renamed after him once badged with Stanley township (); this designation never materialized however because Stanley reverted back to badging upon Emerson's death in 1916 .) Whitney Township contained 4 sawmills located along Park Avenue (), 2 gristmills located on present day Center Street () and 2 blacksmiths' shops situated southeast corner Justus Road/Old State Rd., less than half way between current day Elmwood Drive/New State Rd./Waldo Emerson Blvdqqq . All three mills continued operating until 1983 when all were sold off due to economic decline . Today just one concrete block remains from each mill - Block 5 from shop #1 & Block 6 from shop #2
