Coffee was also mentioned in Greek and Roman literature. In 1875, Dutchman Pieter Bruegel drew a picture of a man drinking coffee with a satchel over his shoulder. This illustration started the modern age of coffee drinking and became known as the "Dutch style" because this is how people usually consumed coffee in that time period. The first true drip- roasted coffees were made in Ethiopia in 1974 by Koffee Klatch co-founder Gebrselassie Gebre Selassie II along with two other co-founders: Teferi Abera Negus and Desalegn Woldekel Arega. It wasn't until about 1990 when quality control began to improve on whole bean coffees that different roasters took notice, setting up their own production facilities throughout the world to produce high-quality standards for their beans. As more and more people started tasting this unique flavor profile, they eagerly began searching for where these beans came from and what went into making them so delicious. 1) The Arab World – One of the earliest regions to learn about coffee was from Arabia, where it originated about 6500 years ago according to archaeology evidence. There are references to ground coffee being used by Arabs long before writing ever existed!Arabian traders brought java beans back with them when they traded through Asia Minor (today's Turkey). They later introduced these beans into Europe through conveyor belts coming down from Baghdad or Damascus which eventually reached Normandy (France). From there they spread all over Europe before reaching Amsterdam in 1620 AD! There are mentions of coffee shops existing as early as 1525 AD! 2) The Dutch East Indies – Java (now Indonesia) was discovered by sailors on July 12th, 1776 AD while sailing towards Java Sea because they could not find any other spices on board ship! This gave Europeans an idea of where Indonesia might be located since spices were such an important part of Dutch trade at that time! The Dutch soon discovered that the soil here had many different types of trees so they started planting crops such as cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg etc., helping to give birth to Indonesia’s very first plantation – Majapahit Empire Coffee Factory (now Jakarta). However, due to spice monopoly granted by British traders during this time period; Netherlands lost out economically&thus stopped producing Java Coffee altogether!!! 3) Persia – Persian sources mention ground beans being brewed in Iran sometime between 650 BC & 350 AD but there is no concrete evidence for this claim!!!! However some believe that Iranian merchants may have taken Arabic ground beans back home after leaving Iraq or Syria during various periods!! 2 Kings 4:23 says “And he [the king] passed through all provinces warring against one another…And he found nothing but Arabians brewing drink”….. So even though Persian sources do not mention ground Beans being drunk here prior thereto however it's highly likely based off cultural logics nonetheless………. !! 4) India – Indian tribes living near Rajasthan region had been using ground beans since prehistory!!! Biblical accounts say God blessed Abraham with three talents of gold because he cracked open one hundred bushels of silver clusters without spilling one drop!!!
