Preminger would often buy beans from farmers' markets or roasted them himself before serving them up to his customers fresh every day. Over time, people began to refer to The Plaza as "The CoffeeHouse." By 1975, The Plaza had grown so large that it closed its doors for good and returned to its original name: Otto Preminger's Café & Coffee Shop。 However, with the arrival of Starbucks (or any other big name café) within minutes of each other on North First Street just below The Plaza, things changed rapidly for Otto Preminger's Café & Coffee Shop。 It wasn't long before they too were referred to simply as Starbucks…. until they closed again in 2009 due to financial troubles! That leaves us with today's version of Oak Creek's most iconic cafe: Otto Preminger's Cafe & Tea Room! Otto Preminger's Cafe & Tea Room has been serving up delicious cupcakes and lattes since 1938! It wasn't until 1912 that Oak Creek got its own electric light system when Wabash Electric Light Company bought land from Northwestern Telephone Company for this purpose.
