The Neenah, Wisconsin Navy Yard was founded in 1851 as the first naval shipyard in the United States. The yard built vessels for both US and foreign navies, most notably the USS Constitution, which was used during the American Revolution and served in various wars including World War II. In 1944, the Neenah Naval Shipyard closed its doors after a century of service. However, it reopened in 1996 as a museum dedicated to naval history and culture. Today, the yard is home to a number ofUSS Iowa class submarines as well as other research vessels and maritime museums. The navy gift history at Neenah dates back to 1851 when Captain Amos Davenport purchased land on which he erected a small wooden windmill that would serve as his shipyard headquarters. Davenport's decision to build warships specifically for US military use set the tone for future activity at Neenah where builders continued to design ships specifically for US Navy requirements until 1903 when Congress passed an act authorizing construction of Dreadnoughts. While there were several different styles of dreadnoughts constructed over time (e.g., Maine-class), one constant feature across all types was their high-quality woodworking techniques that allowed them to last many years without needing repair or major renovation. By 1903, American Neptune had become obsolete following World War I and so she was sold off to Spain who renamed her La Plata and then again to Navarra before being scrapped in 1950s along with many other Spanish navy ships. Newsome Auctions finally acquired her permits on July 13th, 2009 from Spanish government permitting her sale under the name USS Nebraska (LIM 925) becoming only the second Nimitz class battleship ever sold by an American private individual after Texas A&M University’s San Jacinto (LIM 927). The Nebuchadnezzar class battleship once again became America’s largest warship ever built with a displacement of over 1000000 tons making her unique compared to any other type of ship currently afloat within our nation’s Navy inventory. Her addition not only brings significant historical significance but also provides much needed economic stability for our local community through revenue generated from operations at our facility which supports more than 6000 jobs statewide!

With this change in government structure came new opportunities for development as city officials could easier oversee more aspects of local life than before. During World War II, Neenah played an important role in providing food for military units stationed throughout Europe – both from kitchen gardens set up by civilians on their properties or through donations from businesses throughout the city itself. During that time period neenerahs also experienced other key moments including when President Franklin D Roosevelt visited during his 1944 State Visit and when General Dwight Eisenhower delivered his final address at Milton High School on November 3rd1945
