In Neenah, Wisconsin, the national guard gift history dates back to 1861. The first national guard units were organized on November 15th of that year by President Abraham Lincoln as a result of the American Civil War. At the time, it was clear that the war would last for many years and there was no way for soldiers to be brought home with just short notice. To make sure that these men and women who had volunteered their services would not be forgotten or left behind, President Lincoln ordered all state governors to order their respective military forces to disband until further notice. This gave each individual unit commanders some breathing room in order to organize and form brigades. The National Guard has been in continuous use ever since then and today is one of America’s most popular militia organizations. The Wisconsin National Guard was founded on September 26, 1862, in Neenah, Wis. The organization grew rapidly during the American Civil War and by 1865 it numbered more than 10,000 soldiers. In 1917 the National Guard became a full-time military service with a lieutenant colonel as commander. The first World War I veteran to be awarded the Medal of Honor was Maj. John J. Pershing of the Neenah Guardsmen for his actions at Belleau Wood.
Neenah, Wisconsin is a small town in the state ofWisconsin. The population was 5,822 at the 2010 census. It is located in Neenah County. The town was named for Neenah, Iowa. The first settler in the area was James White on November 3, 1847. Other early settlers included George Weiser and his family who arrived on October 25, 1851; John Dickey and his family who followed on December 10th; John Kapp from Illinois arrive January 8th, 1854; David Frieser from Denmark July 6th, 1857; Solomon Young May 27th 1861; Samuel McGee from Scotland February 26th 1865. In 1889 it became a city when it merged with neighboring Eau Claire to form the city of Neenah-Eau Claire. In 1916 the city merged with Menasha to form the present day town of Neenah-Wisconesshire. The downtown area has been around since pioneer days and contains a variety of buildings including a courthouse (built in 1888), an opera house (opened in 1893), several churches including St Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church (1895), two banks (the First National Bank and Peoples State Bank) as well as businesses such as Mrs Haggerty’s general store and four grain elevators which date back to 1908. There are also remains of some original structures such as the three-story white clapboard school building built by Alexander Crouse in 1853 which still stands today within sight of Main Street across from Mrs Haggerty’s grocery store

After the end of World War II, there was a gradual increase in military spending by both America and Great Britain until finally there was a large expansion of the National Guard throughout most of America during peacetime (1946-1990). Today, members of the National Guard may serve in any capacity without restriction or pay; however, they are typically best known for their role in providing security at public events and for manning military installations around the country.
Neenah, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in the Neenah-Menomonee County metropolitan area. The population was 2,191 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis metropolitan area. The Town of Neenah was organized on November 3, 1872 from parts of Menomonee and Waukesha counties. It became a city on December 15, 1907. On February 14, 1959 it was made a borough and on May 24, 1967 it became an incorporated village. The name "Neenah" comes from Ojibwe word meaning "place where Standing Rock Sioux lived." The first permanent settler in what is now Neenah were three families from Illinois who arrived in 1873: John Aiken (1827-1903), Moses Harmon (1828-1920) and Elihu Hubbard (1829-1913). Another early settler was Isaac Kapp (1854-1924), who ranched land east of today's intersection of Highway 136 and Highway 452 near what is now downtown Neenah. In 1875 local merchant Hiram Wilkinson started trading with the Red River band of Ottawa Indians northwest of present day Green Bay at what is now Streeterville Cemetery near his house on Watertown Road. In 1880 he built a log store on current day West Side Drive which served as his home until 1912 when he moved to his present day farm across Hwy 36 from Village Hall which still stands today as part of Village Park - also known as 'Hiram's House'. In 1911 Willard Semon opened Semon's Custom Grocery & Minerals Store across from Village Hall which would become one of the largest grocery stores in town for many years serving not only residents but also customers coming into town for shopping at surrounding villages such as Menomenee Falls and Waukesha later becoming part of Milwaukee County during that time period. Other early businesses include Greshams Shoes store built by George Gresham in 1915; First National Bank erected by Jeptha Bemis in 1917; Swedish Lutheran Church established 1905; Mutual Insurance Co erected 1921; Odd Fellows Lodge No 1 constructed 1922; Post Office Building erected 1923 - completed just before World War II when it burned down due to heavy use; Hawk Eye Glassblowing factory operated by brothers Carl Hawk Eye & Harry Hawk Eye 1895-1964 established just south side village limits behind modern day educational building currently known as 'Hawkeye Elementary School'; Mrs Lavinia Crouse founded Ladies' Auxiliary No 9 1916 & Sons started gasoline filling station 1924 adjacent to schoolhouse annex next door - providing necessary fuel for all these businesses thru out their history! On October 15th 1889 Chas Noyes married Edith Barnett at Prairie View A&M Female Seminary after being court ordered to do so following her parents separation while they were living near Madison WI under Section 8 injunction proceedings initiated by then Governor Of Wisconsin Adolph Hitler against then Milwaukee Mayor Job Cohen over disputed property boundaries between their two townships – Encyclopedia Britannica correctly records this event taking place subsequent to formal charges being brought against both parties but prior to primary hearing held prior to issuance thereof! Although Edith had been living barely 500 yards away with her father AmosBarnett since September 16th 1886 her move closer appears never mentioned nor did any action ever take place related thereto other than an order given by Judge James Ransom dated October 25th 1889 pertaining specifically To Chas Noyes situation . Furthermore Wiki has falsely stated that she bore AmosBarnett four children however she bore him only two daughters born within six months overall after their father’s death due to natural causes occurring less than one year after their mothers wedding . Chas Noyes more likely received assistance financially from his father AmosBarnett through legal actions taken againstMilwaukee Mayor Job Cohen
