In 1951 another detachment arrived at Waukesha County Hospital; this unit became known as "The Hospitals". Finally, in 1957 an entirely new detachment arrived at Camp Randall (later called Fort Monmouth) when it merged with another garrison located near Rock Island/Homewood Park."

Mount Pleasant is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the Fox River. The population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. Mount Pleasant is adjacent to Green Bay and Milwaukee. The first Europeans to visit what is now Mount Pleasant were French traders in 1673-74. They named it "Pleasant" because they found trees there with soft, white bark that looked like apleasant scent when rubbed. The name stuck and the town has since been called Mount Pleasant ever since by the locals from around the area who have continued to use this name for their community even after changes in its location and demographics over time. In 1854, James Fenton built a sawmill on land he had bought east ofpresent-day Mount Pleasant Township. This mill helped establish what is today known as Fentonville as an important commercial center on the Fox River Valley during the Wisconsin Confederation era (1848-57). The mill became part of the United States army during World War I and operated until 1922 when it closed down due to damage caused by fire. The village of Mount Pleasant was platted in 1868 by commissioners appointed by Governor Levi Morton to surveyed lands lying between Marquette County's White Earth Creek valley and Racine County's Menomonee River valley west of present-day Milwaukee Heights Cemetery - including all or part of present-day Milwaukee, Waukesha, Oshkosh, West Allis, Sheboygan Falls, Appleton and Kenosha Counties - which formed part of Wisconsin's new territorial government following America's independence from Great Britain in 1776. The first permanent settler in Mount Pleasant was David Chislett. He arrived in 1837 and platted the town on land that he had purchased from the Potawatomi Nation. Chislett named his town after Mount Pleasant, England, where he had been born two years earlier. Many early residents of Mount Pleasant came from New England or East Yorkshire, England. In 1851, Abraham Lincoln visited Mount Pleasant and spoke to several businesses and schools in the community before returning to Springfield Illinois on October 6th that same year. In 1865, when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Chicago by John Wilkes Booth someone local asked him if they could place a wreath at his grave which they did successfully with $5 from each person who paid for it Mount pleasant continued to grow during this time as more people migrated here looking for opportunities In 1927 there were only 350 residents living here but by 1970 it had grown to over 2200 people The post office reopened on July 9th 1870 and remained open until December 30th 1971 One of the many things that has kept Mountpleasant alive throughout its history is its vibrant agriculture industry which continues today Today mountpleasant is known for its Produce stand which offers fresh produce year-round as well as its gift shop
