The Coast Guard was founded on August 29, 1915, in Monroe, Wisconsin. The first Coast Guard Station in the state was established here in 1915. The present Coast Guard Station is located in Monona and it is one of the busiest stations on the Lake Michigan shoreline. It has an area of 1,500 acres and it patrols the entire shoreline of the lake. In 1940, a new station was built in Sturgeon Bay which became known as Station Keweenaw. In 1951, a new station called Port Washington was built and this became known as the most northerly Coast Guard Station on the Great Lakes. In 1984, a new station at Holland Landing was opened and this became known as the most easterly Coast Guard Station on the Great Lakes. In 1995, a new station at Marinettewas opened which became known asthe most southerly coast guard station onthe Great Lakes. The present day Coast Guard Station is one of its largest and latest additions to our inventory with an area of 3100 acres that includes many ports along Lake Michigan’s shoreline including Monona, Holland Landing Marina & docklands., Marinette Harbor Marina & docklands., Sturgeon Bay Marina & docklands., Superior Harbor Marina & docklands., Winnebago Harbor Marina & docklands., Ottawa Harbour Dockland . .Station Keweenaw also operates various Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) for search and rescue operations and law enforcement purposes along with numerous other Departmental vessels including Life Raft Boat Unit (LRBU), Ice Breaker(ISHW), Cutlass Brokered Ship Division (CBSD) Helicopter Unit (HHU), Lighthouse Keepers Cutter Division (LKCD) Light cruiser division 2nd Battalion-Marine Corps Reserve unit).

Monroe, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Monroe County. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from James Monroe, 5th president of the United States. The first settler in Monroe was John Chapman who arrived in 1827. The first post office was founded in 1830, but no residents were listed in the 1840 census because there were only two families living there at that time. In 1851, German immigrant Julius Kapp settled in what is now Monroe and started a small grocery store which became a major player on the community's economy for decades before going out of business around 1920. A second early settler, David Storrs, also founded a grocery store hereabouts before moving to Waukesha County in 1854 to start his own mercantile empire which would last until 1924 when it went out of business again and its assets were taken over by Waukesha County Courthouse management). In 1908, railroad magnate Solomon Wixom donated land east of town to serve as an interchange point for local farmers travelling west to markets near Milwaukee or east to towns like Ashwaubenon or Madison on Lake Michigan; this area eventually became known as North Side Monroe due to this railway connection (north side being anglicized form "northwest"). As more people moved into town along with access to schools and other amenities coming downriver through bridges built by Wisconsin Central Railroad during the turn-of-the-century boom period (1910s-1920s), growth continued unabated until World War II when wartime restrictions halted development everywhere except downtown where many factories had been built since prewar times – including one large munitions plant operated by IBC Steel Corporation which produced tanks and other heavy artillery during World War II). Following World War II and as new industries sprang up all overtown - including paper processing plants erected after 1945 - traffic levels began reaching their peak around 1960 when Interstate 94 was completed nearby making townspeople increasingly spread out across Racine County instead thereof (this increased commute if you work outside your home county during those years). But even then things weren't too bad as most people still lived within walking distance of their jobs; however, with increasing numbers people commuting into larger cities these days it's easy enough not to feel quite so isolated anymore... although North Side Monroe still has its share of nostalgically minded locals who will always refer nostalgically back to happier days long ago when everything was just perfect! Monroe was one of the earliest towns in Wisconsin and was founded in 1846. The town had a population of only 100 people when it was founded, but by 1850 it had grown to around 1,000 people. Monroe was named after President James K. Polk, who made the town its seat in 1853. It became an incorporated village in 1872 and a city in 1907. In 1960, Monroe joined the United States as part of the Gateway State. Today, Monroe is a small community with a population of about 150 people. Monroe’s history can be traced back to when it was first settled by European immigrants who arrived in what is now Wisconsin in the early 1800s. One of these immigrants, John Fitch, erected the first cabin on land that would later become Monroe County. Fitch and his family lived there for several years before moving away because they were not welcome in their new home country of England. In 1846, President James K. Polk issued an executive order authorizing the creation of townships within present-day Wisconsin for settlers who desired to move westward into territory newly open to residents under US government rule following Mexican statehood that year. Of those proposed townships – Monroe (named for then-President James K Polk) among them – only two were actually created: Appleton and Waukesha counties were formed from portions of Dane and Milwaukee counties respectively; while Madison County (home to Milwaukee) remained unchanged from its original boundaries except for the addition of Monona Heights (now West Allis). The township system proved useful during this time period since many farmers wanted more than one home base where they could operate their farmsmultiple times over during various seasons so that they could provide goods and services needed by their constituents across multiple locations within their county or district rather than just one location statewide or even inside their own territorial limits singlehandedly like some farmers had done previously. As other nearby settlements began popping up throughout Northwestern Wisconsin due eastward from Chicago due to opening up areas formerly used as part of Polish/Lithuanian Tiger farmlands along Lake Michigan between Whitefish Bayou and Green Bay southeast along Lake Superior towards Duluth/Nipissing Isthmus settlement area post-war Boomtown phenomena such as Racine followed suit soon thereafter seeking out similar benefits conferred upon them through incorporation which seemed less restrictive onerous requirements thereby promoting growth including annexations neighboring communities largely without incident until annexation conversions forced displacement trends interactions often resulting property values declines frequently leading instability characterized by lawlessness patterns social unrest conditions utilized herein future studies should explore opportunities unique to this region research has shown significant increases crime rates prostitution rates per capita
