The Milwaukee Air Force Deployed Gift History Program is a unique and prestigious tradition in the Air Force. The program was created to recognize members of the military who have given back to their community by donating time, money, or goods to support Air Force missions. The history of the Milwaukee Air Force Deployed Gift History Program began with a donation from Major General Carl A. Spaatz, Jr., USAF (Ret.). In 1974, General Spaatz designated the Milwaukee-area home of Maj. General Donald Kilduff as the site for the first deployment gift history event. Since then, more than 1,500 donors from across Wisconsin have participated in gift history events around the state. Each year since 1976, an airman from our unit has traveled to Milwaukee and presented a service medal and other awards at a reception hosted by local civic organizations. This event provides opportunity forUAW Local 710 employees who are not members of the military to celebrate life within our community while also displaying their appreciation for service to our country. Each year approximately 2 dozen employees attend this function; most recently in October 2017, we welcomed over 20 guests from our company’s Corporate Values Department!

This was only one examples of how poorly The USAF communicates with its allies; often times they are not aware that their Gifts have had an impact on locals. Despite these issues, The USAF continues to send Generals and Chiefs visiting different parts of the world with gifts in order to show appreciation for their service. These deployments help show that despite some shortcomings when it comes time to give back - The USAF still loves its people very much!
