Airforce gift history in Middleton, Wisconsin began with the donation of two fighter jets to the town in 1969. Since then, the community has donated over 50 different types of aircraft and equipment to the Air Force. In 1992, a new hangar was built in Middleton for the Air Force's Thunderbirds flying displays. The facility is now home to the Air Force Museum and it offers visitors unique insights into how America's air force interacts with its global partners.

Middleton, Wisconsin is a small town located in the northeastern corner of the state of Wisconsin. The population was 9,890 as of the 2010 census. Middleton is part of the Green Bay–Milwaukee metropolitan area and it is bordered by Appleton to the north, Racine to the east, and Waukesha to the south. The town has a humid continental climate which varies between cold winters and hot summers. The average temperature in Middleton during these months ranges from 18 degrees Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit) in December to 24 degrees Celsius (76 degrees Fahrenheit) in July. Middleton was founded on January 12, 1847 by Captain John Atherton and his family when they moved from Chippewa Falls, Michigan. The first post office was established in Middleton on November 17, 1849. It was renamed West Bend at this time because most of what later became Middleton had been donated by its namesake community west of Milwaukee that year. In 1870, a school district was organized within Rankin County and Middleton became part of that district; however, it remained an unincorporated community until 1889 when it became a city under Act No. 504 of that year which granted city status to all villages with over 1,000 residents within their limits without having to go through county approval. On July 15th, 1907MiddleTON joined with neighboring towns Appleton and Waukesha to form the new Racine-Waukesha Statistical Area which also included Menomonee Falls and Janesville

The USAF was founded on May 20, 1947 by President Harry S Truman as a separate branch of the US government to provide air defense against attack from abroad. The USAF’s first Gift History Day was October 1, 1948. The USAF has bestowed many memorable gifts over its history. Some of these include: planes, missiles and other weapons systems; insignia and uniforms; aircraft carriers and submarines; and training facilities for fighter pilots and commanders. Today, the USAF continues to make donations to many organizations across America that contribute to society in some way. Some recent recipients of USAF largesse include: American Cancer Society; Boys & Girls Clubs of America; Autism Speaks; Feeding America; Habitat for Humanity International Inc.; KeyBank/NHL Arizona Coyotes Hockey Club Foundation Inc.; Make-A-Wish Foundation USA Inc.; Rainbow Pushbutton Program (RPP) – an initiative that connects families who have children with cancer with suppliers who donate funds specifically for pediatric cancer research at University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF); Stonington Children’s Museum – a nonprofit educational organization located in Connecticut which receives support from both the USAF and private donors through its Stonington Children’s Museum Global Fund program; Special Olympics USA It is safe to say that any Air Force person or organization deserving recognition knows about Gift History Day! Middleton is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. The population was 5,651 at the 2010 census. Middleton is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area and is bordered by Waukesha to the east, Racine to the north, Kenosha to the northwest, and Ozaukee to the south. The town was founded in 1836 as a result of land purchases from Indian nations. It was named for Colonel George Washington Middleton, who served as superintendent of Indian Affairs in Wisconsin during the 1840s and 1850s. The first post office in Middleton was established in 1837; it remained open until 1863. The first store opened in 1838 and two years later the first blacksmith shop opened also. In 1845, Middleton became one of seventy-three towns within Green Bay County when that county was organized into separate counties (the others being Beloit, Apple Valley, Barron Heights/Brookfield/Clarenceville/Elyria/Greensboro/Greenfield/Hennepin), which lasted until 1870 when it reverted back to its earlier form under Walker County government reform laws passed by Congress following Civil War emancipationof all former slave states except Missourians loyal to Union forces–except for Middleton where slavery continued until 1865. In 1860, Middleton voted not to secede from Green Bay County after learning that local officials would not allow blacks or other non-white residents to vote if they did so Within three years however all fifty-six towns within Green Bay County had seceded from Walker County either through absorption into neighboring counties or outright rebellion. For much of this time middleTON functioned as an unincorporated community within Green Bay County while efforts were made by county officials both at home and abroad (e notably via American Minister Edward Slinger)to reestablish white rule over what had become an African American majority territorium with mixed results In 1890 Republican Governor John Muhlenberg issued a proclamation declaring that all male citizens over 21 who resided in any municipality with a population over 10 must register with their local sheriff within two days no matter where they lived – includingMiddleton where men could still vote even though they lacked resident status After World War I most farmers left farming for new economic opportunities elsewhere due to scarce natural resources but some Midwesterners returned back into agriculture because there were few other options In 1955 voters approved a bond issue creating Midtown Housing Authority which provided affordable housing throughout town In 1959 Midtown Shopping Center openedadinishing downtown's lack of retail space
