Military deployments have a long and varied history in Menasha. From the founding of the city in 1836 to its current role as an Army garrison, military deployments have had a significant impact on the community. The Menasha-based 103rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) is one of only two brigade combat teams in the United StatesArmy that participates in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), which began on March 30th, 2003. The IBCT was first deployed to Baghdad, Iraq on November 12th 2005 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). The IBCT’s deployment was composed of three brigades: The 1st Brigade Combat Team (1 CCT), 2nd Brigade Combat Team (2 BCT), and 3rd Brigade Combat Team (3 BCT). Since its inception, the 103rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team has participated in several major operations throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. In support of OIF, 1 CCT conducted search and destroy missions throughout Baghdad; 2 BCT conducted patrols during prior months; 3 BCT supported security operations along provincial borders; while 9/11 anniversary security patrols were conducted within City limits. Additionally, 1 CCT provided special forces reconnaissance support for Combined Joint Task Force-Iraq counterinsurgency efforts; 2 BCT served as an airmobile insertion point for III Marine Expeditionary Force Marines conducting amphibious assaults ashore near Anbar Province; 3 B CT provided artillery support to Airborne Operations by conducting firefights from Forward Operating Base Shifa approximately 20 kilometers north west of Baghdad. Additionally, during their time in Iraq 1 C CT also partnered with Kurdish Peshmerga forces Fight against ISIL militants operating inside Iraqi Kurdistan known as KRG Intervention Corps or YPG Corps forward operating base Umm al Jalil located 25 kilometers north east of Kirkuk Airport

Menasha, Wisconsin is a town in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. The Menasha-Racine metropolitan area has a population of 10,711. The Town of Menasha was organized in 1847 and named after General John Mennonite Captain David Menasha. It located on the east side of the Racine River between its source on Hwy 287 (now Racine Road) and its mouth at the river near present day Menasha Lakeshore Drive. In 1851 the towns of Waukesha and Racine were consolidated into one town under the name of Racine. In 1857 Menasha incorporated as a village under new laws designed to promote agricultural development within villages where there had been no systematic improvement in land conditions since early 1800s when most villages consisted only of small lots scattered among natural woods or manured fields. The first store was built in Menasha by Fritchey & Co., which opened January 20, 1858. 3 other stores followed until 1860 when Gillett Bros., Lumbermen’s Supply House No 1, became the first post office and mail service arrived through water mails from Milwaukee beginning with package delivery on May 12th 1861 from Gillett’s store across Hwy 27 from present day Union Depot Families that started out working for their fathers immediately began to build their own homes; however there were few schools during this time as village education focused heavily on religious instruction primarily Lutheranism which was considered more important than secular skills such as reading and writing. Village meetinghouses also served as churches for services conducted by ministers who would then preach inside while residents attended outside services provided by men like Jorgensen or Stayner outside of village limits each Sabbath morning before returning home for dinner). However beginning around 1870Village meetings began discussing ideas about creating a school district so that residents could have access to quality public education regardless of religious affiliation After much discussion it was decided that an open school board should be formed with 4 members elected annually by general assembly which would provide funding for building new schools and maintaining existing ones while also electing school trustees who would manage these facilities . This model continued until 1903 when closed high schools were re-opened unified with districts providing funding instead allowing individual families to own properties within their ward boundaries resulting in increased competition for resources leading to closures throughout history particularly duringhard times . In 1907another open board meeting resulted in establishment of 3 high schools within newly created School District 522 comprising all rural areas west of Chicago including Menasha

Menasha is a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. Menasha is part of the Green Bay–Saint Paul metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Menasha were the Potawatomi Indians. They started trading with other tribes and coming into this area about 1819. A post office called Menasha was established in 1825, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1846, the Menasha Union School District was created from parts of the former Dodge County School Districts 1 and 3. In 1865, Menasha became a city when it became a part of Green Bay. The city limits expanded rapidly due to annexation by Green Bay in 1889; as of the 2010 census, Menasha had an estimated population of over 2,000 residents. In 1902, man-made lakes were authorized within town boundaries by state legislation (Chapters 375 and 376). The townships that formed within those lakes were Arcola Township on the north side of Rock Lake and Hinsdale Township on the south side of Rock Lake. These artificial lakes remain today as some remnant evidence of Dutch culture during that time period hereabouts including small cedar groves still standing which are supposed to date back to 1634 AD when one such tree was measuring 5 feet 6 inches tall! There are also several examples found of early meeting places for local Indian officials which include: Rockside Tavern on Chain Lakeshore near where present day Superior Avenue meets Watertown Rd., White Bird Inn just east off US Highway 59 north between Illinois & Wisconsin Avenues near present day Applecross Rd., Turtle Beach Tavern located near present day Black Hawk Rd./Wisconsin Ave., finally Fish Hatchery tavern located on present day Big Sioux Dr./Watertown Rd.? All these various buildings have been preserved or have been restored and currently reside inside or adjacent to their original locations? The first grocery store opened up around 1912 when Elisha Ladd opened his store at 710 Main Street/ now known as First National Bank building #1A (now First National Bank building #2A). He operated out his business next door before moving acrossMain Street into what is now Waukesha County ( adjoining current Day Brookfield Towne ) In 1916 he moved again across Main Street into what is now Manitowoc County but continued operations under his name until his death in 1981 . Ladd's son John built him a new business—John Ladd's Grocery—on New Market Road which remains open today as JohnLadd’s Grocery LLC (First National Bank Building#3B). This store served as both men's homesheets while they attended school together before opening their own stores downtown from 1951 through 1984 inclusive; later moving uptown onto State Street before closing its doors permanently therein 1984 . along with brother Bob who also ran another grocery store(now demolished) called “Bob’s Gourmet Grocery” from 1951-1984 at 505 State St/Now known as "Otto's" prior to its demolition sometime during 2006-2007 During World War II many men went off to fight overseas but many others stayed behind working at home making things like radios and vacuum cleaners essential for everyday life Midwesterners took notice so they organized themselves into war councils Armed Forces Committee chaired by Mayor Arthur Slingerwood In 1942 they decided that We Own Our Country should be played on public radio all week long instead we listened to propaganda tapes run by Axis Powers
