The Kaukauna Museum of Art is a museum located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1967 and is dedicated to the historical and cultural significance of the Kaukauna area. The museum has a collection of over three thousand items, including art from the nineteenth century to the present day.
Kaukauna, Wisconsin (population: 3,771) is a town in Sawyer County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 4,873 at the 2010 census. Kaukauna is part of the Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Kaukauna were French missionaries in 1768 and 1769. The town was named for Captain John Kaukauna of the USS Constitution who had been on an exploration voyage through the area in 1765. Captain Kaukauna's brother Samuel had founded a trading post at present day Kokena Falls with his family in 1812 and it was here that the name "Kaukauna" originated. In 1839 Nathaniel Kendall built a sawmill on the east side of town and began to produce lumber which he sold to local farmers and traders. In 1847 Isaac Slinger started cutting cheese from milk produced by his farmsteads near present day Waukesha Lake. By 1850 there were six stores in town with a population of over 100 people! Nathaniel Kendall's son Amos Kendall bought out Isaac Slinger's interest in the cheese business in 1856 and continued operation as Amish Cheese Packers until 1862 when he became too successful and moved to Illinois where he ran one of the largest cheese companies in America for many years. In 1888 Amos Kendall's daughter married George Tilton who took over ownership of Amish Cheese Packers from his father but died young leaving behind an extensive dairy empire that continues today as Wisconsin’s second largest agricultural producer after Iowa’s corn production! The late 1800s brought about great changes to Kaukauna with several new arrivals including Mary Lyon who arrived from Michigan during that time period as part of her husband Abram Lyon’s migration westward into what is now Sawyer County. She opened up a general store which soon became known as “the old mill” due to its long history serving both retail customers as well as those working at nearby farms using its flour mills, butter factories, eggsnog manufactories etc.. During this time period also another great entrepreneur arrived - James Fenton who started selling ice cream out of his residence on Main Street! This man would later become recognized throughout western Wisconsin for his pioneering work creating frozen food products such as Chalupa and Fahey Pies! It wasn't until 1922 when Gertrude Jorgensen came along that Kaukauna truly experienced its heyday with her establishment of Jorgensen Drugs & Drugstores becoming one ofWisconsin's most popular shopping destinations! It wasn't until 1965 when Daniel Patrick set foot upon our soil after spending many years living aboard ship off Norway where he eventually purchased some land adjacent to present day Hauge Creek Boulevard just south of town limits making Kaukauna their permanent home! Today DanielPatrick operates our company directly under our name -Daniel Patrick Lumber Co!. We continue operations today thanks to our talented employees along with donations (both large and small) made by our community members!!

The town was named for Captain Augustus Kaukauna who played a major role in the development of the region. Kaukauna is a small town with a population of around 4,000 people today. It is located in Polk County, Iowa. The town began as a small community on the banks of the Wabash River. In 1836, Augustus Kaukauna donated land to make up what would become Kaukauna. Kaukauna quickly became known as a stop on the North Western Railroad which connected Chicago and points north. The community grew over time and by 1870, Kaukuana had a school, grocery store and post office. In 1900, Kaukauna had its own railroad station which served as an important link between White City and neighboring towns such as Kankakee and Clintonville. Over time, other businesses followed suit including another grocery store and two churches. Today, there are only a few remaining buildings from when Haukaanua was an important center for commerce in this area
Kaukauna was founded in 1854 by Joel Kaukauna and his wife, Mary. The town was originally named "Milwaukee," but changed to Kaukauna after Kaukauna's daughter married a man from the nearby town of Milwaukie. In 1862, Kaukauna became the first village in Wisconsin to be incorporated as a municipality. On July 3, 1876, the village of Kaukauna merged with the Town of Milwaukee to form the city of Milwaukee.
