Tactical Coffee was founded in Hudson, Wisconsin on December 1, 1984. The first location was a small coffee shop called the Dutchman’s Tavern. It was only open for three months before it closed due to a lack of patronage. In early 1985, the business moved to the back of a local grocery store and began serving coffee from an 8-barrel truck. In October of that year, Tactical Coffee opened its first restaurant in Milwaukee. That location served limited menu items and failed to make any money. However, it did give Tactical Coffee the opportunity to start selling their own beans direct to consumers. In 1990, Tactical Coffee opened its second restaurant in Appleton. This location served more extensive menu items and made significant profits. Unfortunately, this success didn’t last as investors pulled out of the company before they could achieve profitability again. After two unsuccessful years at the helm of Tactical Coffee, co-founder Dave Engels resigned in order to take over management at his other startup brewery called Dogfish Head Craft Brewery . However, even with Dave no longer leading the company there were still high levels of anticipation for new products and expansions into new markets . In 1992 tactical coffee introduced their popular K-Cup Pod system which allowed customers to purchase pre-packaged cups of coffee every morning with easy single cup redemption . From then until 2001 there were multiple expansions into new states such as Texas (2006), New York (2010), Illinois (2012) and Florida (2015). These expansions also saw several changes including moving production headquarters from Hudson to Chicago while also opening up additional stores in larger metropolitan areas such as Milwaukee and St Louis Missouri among others .

Hudson is located on the east side of the Kankakee River and north of Waukesha County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.871 square miles (2.521 km²), all land. As of the census[1] of 2000,[2] there were 6,574 people, 2,868 households, and 1,864 families residing in the town. The population density was 99 residents per square mile (39/km²). There were 3,636 housing units at an average density of 41 per square mile (16/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98% White; 1% African American; 0% Native American; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latinoof any race were 0% of the population. There were 2,868 households out of which 36% had children under age 18 living with them, 53% were married couples living together , 12% had a female householder with no husband present , and 26% were non-families . 24% of all households were made up of individuals and 10% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older . But in the aggregate, it can be summed up by one phrase: The coffee industry has been in its own little world of coffee for a very, very long time. The first mention of coffee being brewed as an adjunct to other beverages was in the 15th century AD. However, it wasn’t until the early 1800s that brewers began to experiment with different roasted beans and methods to create their own unique cup of java. The development of espresso machines around this time allowed cafes and restaurants to begin serving higher-quality cups of java without having to go through the trouble of roasting their own beans or purchasing them from larger companies. Coffee started gaining popularity as a morning beverage throughout Europe during the 19th century; however, it wasn’t until after World War II that American troops began drinking coffee as part of their breakfast routine. This was primarily due to advances in technology that made brewing coffee more efficient and easier than ever before. As Starbucks grew, so did its appetite for new and innovative ways to serve Coffee - including incorporating both ground spices (like cinnamon) into drinks and using cold brew technology which gives individual cups of joe a longer flavor lifespan
