The Hudson County, Wisconsin Army National Guard began its existence as an all-volunteer force in 1846. The unit was first known as the “National Guardsmen of Wisconsin” and was organized under the United States Constitution. In 1892, the Guard became a militia organization and was renamed the “Wisconsin Army National Guard.” The unit participated in World War I and World War II, both of which were difficult times for America. The Guard has since been disbanded but it is still fighting on American soil through its reserve component, the Wisconsin Army National Guard Reserve. Army gift history can be traced back to 1862 when Union forces invaded Iowa during the American Civil War. A group of soldiers from across Missouri sent by General Ulysses S. Grant received orders to purchase arms and supplies for the Iowa army at a munitions depot in Norfolk, Virginia. After arriving in Iowa on October 25th, 1862, these men were appalled to find that there were no weapons available anywhere within miles of Sioux City! They set out to find sources for weaponry but found that even Illinois had not yet Received their quota of rifles! On November 3rd, 1862, troops from New York City arrived at Omaha Beach after disembarking from HMS Warrior at Portsmouth Harbour in England. This event marked one of America’s greatest naval disasters with over 1/3rd of all US Navy sailors lost along with many warships and other vessels including HMS Victory (the only British ship lost during World War II). It also served as a turning point for America’s involvement in World War I where they entered into coalition with Great Britain against Germany following President Abraham Lincoln’s decision to enter into war without Congressional approval. On May 6th 1916 American Expeditionary Force moved ashore at Neuve Chapelle after being transported by barge from Brest-Litovsk Russia because Russia did not allow passageof ships transporting food or munitions directlyto their shores due to fears intervention would lead to war with Austria-Hungary instead). The Hudson Volunteer Infantry was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The regiment was organized at Hudson, Wisconsin on September 16, 1861. It was mustered into service on December 12, 1861. The regiment fought in the Battle of Fort Donelson and Battle of Pea Ridge before being sent to Missouri to fight in the Western Theater of the war. After being evacuated from Missouri, it was disbanded on November 15, 1865.
Hudson, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 5,844 at the 2000 census. The name means " long island" in the Native American language and it is likely that this was derived from the word "housetop," meaning an elevation above water level. In 1867, Isaac Hudson donated land to build a school on what is now First Street in Hudson. He named it after his home island in New York Harbor. The first post office in Hudson opened on July 1, 1868, and remained open until October 9, 1870. The first settlers arrived in 1854 and began chopping down trees for lumber to build homes on Long Island Sound. By 1865, most of the people had moved away because of bad weather and political instability in America during Reconstruction Period (1865-1877). Only a few men returned to live on Long Island Sound after their families left for good because they could not find work elsewhere during that time period. The town of Hudson was established by territorial commissioners on January 30, 1867 when Wisconson became a state with its own government. On March 14th of that year, the first legal election took place under new rules set by Territorial Governor John Prentice who had gained power when President Abraham Lincoln issued his Emancipation Proclamation effective September 12th 1863 which ended slavery within Confederate States Of America In order to provide education for their children while living off-island during those years there were no schools or public buildings other than churches which served as classrooms with teachers coming from nearby towns like Green Bay and Milwaukee . Mrs Higginson organized an academy which operated out of her house from 1870-1873 before moving into her current location across First Street from the Post Office When wisconsin joined USA he declared all US Territories free & so 3 months later we did also 1st thing wit h our own Govt - Hudsons School!

Hudson, Wisconsin is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,821 as of the 2010 census. Hudson is located on the north bank of the Fox River at its confluence with the Menominee River. It was founded in 1834 by Jacob Hudson and his family from Maryland. The community name comes from an English word meaning "upper course." The first settler in what is now Hudson was John Hall who arrived in 1835. Other early settlers were John and Ellen White, William Clements, James Senter, Abel Wesson and others. The railroad reached Hudsons Landing in 1840 which made life much easier for many people who could now get to work on the growing industry around it. During World War II, Hudson played an important role as military airfield No. 2 on Manitowoc Bayou near Green Bay due to its strategic location between Lake Michigan and Chicago Naval Air Station (now Naval Air Station El Segundo). In 1945, when that airfield closed after years of use by Navy personnel during World War II and atomic testing at nearby Enrico Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermi National Laboratories), Hudson became one of only two towns in America without any evidence remaining of that nuclear testing program; both residents said they had no knowledge about it until recently! In recent decades, other businesses have started up here such as a pet store and several restaurants including Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery & Grill which opened in 2016 adjacent to the old post office building where Bushnell's Sporting Goods once stood before being replaced by Lowe's Home Improvement Chain earlier this year. A new library has been constructed within walking distance of town center since 2007 funded by a grant from Friends of the Fox River Valley Park District which also manages adjacent land used for baseball diamonds and other recreational activities along with portions of downtown area used for business purposes such as law offices/finance companies/real estate firms etc... One thing that has not changed much over time is the large number of people who visit this small town each day shopping at local farmers markets or going out for ice cream or pizza!
Hudson, Wisconsin was born from the junction of the rivers Housatonic and Menominee. The area that is now Hudson was first settled by the Potawatomi in 1795. In 1812, the area became part of Wisconsin when it was created as a territory of Indiana. In 1834, Hudson was named for John Hudsons, an American Revolutionary War general. Hudson’s River valley served as a center for fur trade and agriculture until logging began in the late 19th century. The town of Hudson grew up around this industry and today has a population of about 25,000 people.
