Gourmet coffee has been around for quite some time in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The beans that are now sold as gourmet coffee are actually from a previous source, but they have been passed down through the years and become known as the best of the best. The first gourmet coffee was likely brewed by Julius Caesar in Rome in the 8th century BC. It is said that he used roasted beans from Ethiopia to make his famous espresso drinks. In 1876, George Peake started importing beans from Africa and serving them up at his tea shop on State Street in Green Bay. He called it The Coffee House and it remains one of the most popular tourist destinations today. In 1902, John Augustus Strong opened a small grocery store on Main Street in Green Bay that became one of the leading sources for gourmet coffee products in Wisconsin. His store was dedicated to selling high-quality Arabica bean coffees from all over the world, including Ethiopia, Brazil and Indonesia. He also served up unique blends of coffee different from any other place at that time. In 1933, Donny Deutschman opened his first gourmet coffee house in Milwaukee with help from his brother Fritz Deutschman. They named it The Coffee House because their goal was to provide customers with top-quality roasts and creams made specifically for their establishment alone rather than just general sale items like milk or eggs. It is still an important part of Milwaukee's Gourmet Coffee industry today!
There are many types of coffee. There is roasting, grinding, and brewing. Roasting means that the beans are roasted by a recipe. Grinding means that the beans are ground into their finest form. Brewing means that water and coffee are combined to produce a drinkable fluid. There are different types of coffee for different people. Some people like strong coffee while others like milder coffees. Some people like black coffee while others prefer white or light brown bean coffees. Green Bay is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Marquette County. The population was $98 million as of 2000, making it the 6th most populous city in Wisconsin and 3rd most populous county in Wisconsin. Green Bay's nickname is "The Great Lakes City." The first coffee crop was grown on land that now includes downtown Green Bay and parts of north-central and northeast Milwaukee. In 1792, Nicholas-Jacques Conte discovered small quantities of coffee beans near present-day Green Bay while exploring the area for fur trade opportunities. By 1800, two Swedish farmers, Lars Christensen and Niels Jacobsen, had established a small processing plant near what is now downtown Green Bay to process these beans into coffee powder. The first cup of coffee was roasted at this initial processing plant on July 6, 1800. From this start until 1847 there were only two small roasters operating out of town; one by Lars Christensen, the other by Niels Jacobsen (the first commercially licensed coffee roaster). These early roasters did not produce any significant quantities of coffee because they could not compete with larger outfits such as those started by John Peter Kilham at the same time in Chicago or Eli Lilly & Co.'s Stroudsburg Plant across the river in Pennsylvania. However, during this time period some key developments occurred which led to increased production: 1) In 1802, Danish immigrant Rasmus Rasmussen began production at an existing mill south of town; 2) In 1827, Jens Hansen opened a new mill west of town; 3) In 1853–1854 George Weigel developed a systems technology for crushing beans which allowed greatly increased yields per acre; 4) By 1865 all five mills had been closed down due to declining demand from customers along with technological advances leading to better quality machines etc.; 5) By 1900 only two mills remained open but were mostly used for storage purposes; 6) During World War II much interest was centered around how bean products could be camouflage material for Allied troops working behind enemy lines

Coffee became popularized by the Portuguese in Brazil and then spread to other parts of the world. The Spanish brought coffee to Mexico City in 1549, and Java coffee was first exported to Spain in 1702. The Dutch gained control of Indonesia in 1945, and during that time, they began exporting coffee to Japan and other countries.
Green Bay, Wisconsin is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Brown County. The population was 108,651 at the 2010 census, making it the third-most populous city in Wisconsin and the largest city in Brown County. Green Bay has been called "The Hub" for its central location within the Milwaukee metropolitan area and its location on both sides of Lake Michigan - one of only two cities in Wisconsin with a river serving as their civic center. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Green Bay on November 5, 1836, when Reverend John Fenton discovered land that he believed had been lost by his predecessor as pastor of St. Mary's Parish (now West Bend). In 1847, Captain George A. Smith landed his ship here after sailing from New Orleans via Superior,Wisconsin to Placerville, California on what would be his final journey across North America. American fur traders began trading here soon after Smith's arrival, driving down the price of furs so that Ojibwe Native Americans could begin acquiring firearms to protect themselves from white hunters and missionaries who were taking their traditional ways of life for granted. In 1851 Green Bay became an incorporated town under the name "Green Bay". It was renamed again to "Milwaukee" on February 15th, 1916 following incorporation into become Milwaukee County and remain so to this day
Green Bay, Wisconsin was founded on December 12, 1837 as a town in the Michigan Territory. The first post office was established in Green Bay on January 1, 1839. On October 16, 1840, Green Bay became a city and on February 15, 1851 it became a county.
