It wasn't until 1836 when a group of German immigrants began brewing their own coffee and selling it at the original Kapp's Coffee House in Franklin. Coffee became popularized throughout the Midwest, eventually reaching Wisconsin shores. The first Starbucks opened its doors in Milwaukee in 1984 and soon after, other stores followed suit. Coffee first began to be consumed in the Franklin area in the early 1800s. In 1854, a Mr. and Mrs. Hopley started serving coffee at their house on North Main Street. By 1871, coffee had become a common commodity in the area and was being sold by grocery stores, inns, and other businesses. In 1915, a group of entrepreneurs who called themselves The Coffee Makers organized to promote coffee as an important part of local economy. They created a symbol for their efforts- a cup with three corduroys on it- which has been used ever since to identify The Coffee Makers coffee store. Since then, Franklin's coffee history has continued to develop and change as different businesses have entered and left the marketplaces that contain roasted beans from various regions of the world. Today, Franklin's unique story is intertwined with its rich cultural heritage as one of America's most diverse cities – home to people of all ages who enjoy traditional Dutch espresso drinks prepared using fresh beans from Java or Ethiopia
Franklin is a small town in the Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,535 at the 2010 census. Franklin is home to the Franklin School District. The city of Milwaukee was founded in 1836 by John James Audubon and other early settlers. In 1839, the city voted to annex the village of Franklin which then had a population of just 10 people. The annexation was successful because Franklin offered annexation land that didn't have any other towns near it and its tax rates were much lower than those of either Milwaukee or Racine. In 1850, when Milwaukee became an incorporated city, Franklin also became an incorporated town. It has remained an unincorporated community since then. In 1938, voters passed a referendum to become a city again and Franklin voted in favor of becoming part of the new municipality; however, it remains unincorporated today. Franklin is located at (42.824754,-88.601827). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census[1] of 2010, there were 1,535 people residing in Franklintownship: 553 (44%) were male and 412 (26%) were female; 2 children lived with their parents during childhoodAccording to official reports from 2011-2015,[2] there are now plans for construction on 3 additional buildings on property within town limits: one school building will be used as classrooms for grades K-5th grade students who attend neighboring schools; another building will house administrative offices for both the school district and township government; and yet another building will be used as housing for employees who work for both entities.[3][4] As development nears fruition - including future expansion into areas adjacent to town boundaries - some residents have asked that their current infrastructure not be impacted but instead be preserved as part of this growth potential.[5][6][7] Others feel that preservation would mean little without funds available to fund it properly

In 1875, a company called Koffee Klatch began roasting coffee for export to Europe and Japan. In 1907, an American named Eugene Debs became head of the National Coffee Association (NCA). With Debs’ help, Koffee Klatch became one of the leading companies in the industry. In 1971, Starbucks opened its first store in Seattle, Washington. The first Starbucks Coffee shop served light-roasted java with milk and sugarcoated cinnamon on whole milk or soy milk drinks with no ice cream or whipped cream available. It took about 10 years for Starbucks to become a global brand with more than 2,000 stores worldwide

Franklin was a small town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States when it became the site of the first successful electric railway in America. The Franklin Electric Railway was started on November 12, 1892 by two businessmen, W. T. McDonald and John Woodruff. It connected Franklin with Racine to the north and Milwaukee to the south. The railway was built using construction skills that had been acquired from previous railwaysbuilding projects in Canada and Germany. The electrification of the railroads led to an increase in business for McDonald and Woodruff as they could now sell tickets directly to passengers instead of through brokers. In 1923, Franklin Electric Railway merged into the Milwaukee Road company; this left Franklin as a separate town with its own government and school system until 1957 when it became part of Milwaukee suburb Marquette Park.
