This ship meant more to the navy because it could carry more troops and supplies than the previous ships. The Holland America III was also purchased in 1915. In 1919, another Dutch shipping company, De Nieuwe Maaschouwers, bought a third ship from Holland America. This ship was called the Delaware Bayliner and it carried cargo between New York City and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1922, a fourth vessel from De Nieuwe Maaschouwers was purchased; this time it was called the Milwaukee Bayliner. This boat transported passengers and goods between Milwaukee and Chicago’s Water Tower Creek waterfront area. The first vessels that were built for use by the Navy in conjunction with Lake Michigan were two boats known as LS-1 (1915) and LS-2 (1916). These boats were used to transport foodstuffs between Chicago's Navy Yard at North Side and Decatur's wharves on Lake Michigan shoreline; both crossings occurred during World War I when food shortages caused by Austria-Hungary's war against Serbia compelled naval authorities to purchase large quantities of fresh fruit and vegetables for their forces ashore in Europe without delay or loss of life! The USS Constitution (1814-1865) was the first ship of the United States Navy, and was named in honor of the Founding Father, George Washington. The ship served during several campaigns against French forces in the War of 1812 and also participated in the Mexican-American War. It was decommissioned in 1865 and placed into storage after its purchase by the Wisconsin State Railroad. In 1971, it was donated to the Wisconsin Historical Society as part of their fleet collection. The Constitution Museum opened in 1984 and is open to the public every day from 9am to 4pm.

In 1568, Spanish Admiral Sancho Pérez sailed his flagship Santiago into Lisbon harbor to demand tribute from Portugal's King Manuel I after an long siege. While in port, Santiago fired cannonsballs at Sancho's flagship La Victoria while it lay anchored outside the city gates. When Captain Gomez de Oviedo saw this he ordered his ship La Trinidad to fire upon Santiago but it missed by about 2 miles (3 kilometers). This event is considered to be the start of modern naval warfare. The Navy continued its growth during the 17th century under King Louis XIV who imported large numbers of Dutch watercraft into France for coastal defense purposes. At this time French warships had metal hulls instead of wooden ones which made them much more seaworthy and able to resist boarding by enemy vessels during wartime operations. In addition, Louis XIV also commissioned many large warship designs such as la Royale (the Royal Sovereign), la Foudre (the Flame), le Vengeur (the Vengeance) and l'Infante(the Child). These vessels eventually replaced or supplemented traditional fishing boats used by French navies until they became fullyfledged warships in their own right during the late 18th century when steamboats began becoming available on a wider scale worldwide. Fond Du Lac was founded in 1836 by a group of settlers led by Captain John S. Nicollet. The town was named for the fondue pot that Dutchman Isaac Nieuwouda had brought to Fond du Lac in 1834. The town grew rapidly, and by 1840 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1845, Fond Du Lac became the capital of Wisconsin Territory. In 1849, the territorial government moved from Milwaukee to Fond Du Lac, and the town became an incorporated city on December 3, 1850. By 1860, Fond Du lac had a population of 4,000 people and was one of the largest cities in Wisconsin. The growth of Fond du Lac led to problems; many citizens were not able to afford housing or businesses west of State Street. This caused friction between the city and rural residents until 1902 when a traffic ordinance was passed that limited car travel on state highways within city limits. In 1912, Mayor Edward Condon declared an emergency due to high levels of unemployment in the city center and created three public works projects: a water system expansion project (1892), repairs to City Hall (1912), and construction of new streets (1920). The projects helped reduce congestion on state highways and attract more business owners and residents to Fond du Lac. In 1933, during World War II, FondDuLac developed into one of the most important industrial centers in Wisconsin because it produced munitions such as gasoline tanks for planes and other military equipment as well as food for soldiers coming home from abroad. Despite being bombed multiple times during World War II, many buildings survived unaltered thanks to their use for wartime production only – this included City Hall which stood tall throughout both attacks but suffered minimal damage despite having been used as storage prior to war. After World War II ended there were few opportunities for jobs in post-war America so many workers migrated back into Canada where they received good wages while still being able to keep their homes/ families while working overseas
Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin was originally settled by the Potawatomi people in 1795. The first white settlement here was made in 1836 by John C. Dearborn and his brother, James Dearborn. In 1854, Fond Du Lac became the first town in Wisconsin to be incorporated. It grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s due to its strategic location as a major transportation hub on the Great Lakes region. The city's population reached 1,500 residents by 1907. By 1920, however, it had shrunk to just over 200 residents due to increasing suburbanization and development around it. In 1925, Fond Du Lac was named one of twelve U.S. cities chosen for inclusion in the Stated Cities Program of the League of American Bicentennial Towns program. The program aimed to stimulate growth within large U-shaped urban areas by providing financial assistance and other resources such as land subsidies and infrastructure improvements. The city's population increased again during World War II with the influx of soldiers stationed nearby at Camp Randall Naval Air Station (later Fort Snelling). However, after the war ended in 1945, Fond Du Lac's population decreased again until it peaked at around 350 residents in 1960 before declining slowly until 2000 when it bottomed out at about 150 residents
