The Chippewa Falls Rifle and Pistol Club has been holding meets in the community since 1892. The club purchased a revolver from E.B. Dearborn of Milwaukee in 1912, and soon began to offer shooting lessons for residents of the small town. In 1916, the club acquired its first rifle, which it used until it was replaced by a carbine in 1951. From then on until 1984, the club only stored rifles and pistols in their clubhouse. In 1984, the Chippewa Falls Rifle and Pistol Club became an affiliate member of NRA-ILA (National Shooting Association). This affiliation allowed them to participate in NRA events throughout Wisconsin including annual meeting appearances at Milwaukee County Fairgrounds, state meetings at the State Capitol Building in Madison, and international shoots at various ranges around the country. Today, Chippewa Falls Rifle & Pistol Club still holds meets within their community as well as NRA national events such as The America's Cup Championship Gun Show held every other year at Harbor Park Resort outside of Racine WI!

Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay metropolitan area and is located in the Driftless Area of Iowa County on the Mississippi River downstream from Appleton. The name "Chippewa" originated from Potawatomi word chispi-wah (meaning "hollow place"). The first white settlers arrived in 1836 and named their land Chippewa Falls after this nearby waterfall. By 1840, most of present-day Chippewa Falls had been taken over by Rangers under General Winfield Scott during his Expedition against Chief Kossuth's forces in what is now Illinois Territory. The local village was founded in 1846 when Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show visited this region to show off his new America and largest animal show ever staged - at which time each person could buy a ticket for $5. There were also shows by Joice Hoadley and others until about 1906 or 1907 when they became more popular among locals because of improved transportation available then. On September 17, 1865, Union troops burned down Fort Snelling while trying to capture its garrison retreating across the Mississippi River after Kansas independence was recognized by President Abraham Lincoln as a United States territory; it remains one of only two instances when an American military action resulted in such widespread destruction within Indian Country (the other being Apache Wars). In 1898, Chippewa Falls incorporated as a village with around 140 residents; however, it lost its charter due to lack of support from other villages within Green Bay County following annexation into that county by 1912. In 1916–1920s significant growth took place with many businesses opening up including several breweries (later purchased by Anheuser Busch). However some businesses closed during World War II due to wartime rationing; however most reopened afterwards despite difficulties associated with postwar competition from outside industries such as steel production and automobiles manufacturing which did not share American wartime shortages nor suffer similar rationing restrictions as food items like gasolineoline did(). In 1984 Chippewa Falls voters passed a referendum authorizing incorporation into the city of Milwaukee but this never happened because Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett vetoed it 3 days later citing concerns about potential traffic problems caused by an increase in civic functions catered to both cities combined rather than just one city alone.. In 1997 City Manager Andy Dykstra presented plans for building an expressway through downtown but no progress had been made since then even though funding has been available numerous times through various appeals efforts including Measure O funds earmarked for improvement projects specifically targeting downtown streetscape on Main Street between State Street and Superior Avenue known locally as Dykstra Way (). A study drafted in 2013 estimated that if Comprehensive Plan enhancements are put into effect along US I-94 corridor running concurrently through Downtown Milwaukee via South Sideagt/Waukesha Boulevard arterial eastwardly toward Waukesha County Line would result in savings equivalent to those generated by construction of just 1 mile long expressway proposed for approximately same location without any impact on quality or livability near Dukakis Park & Old World Brewery instead’’ Chippewa Falls post office opened on October 6th 1847 under name Elk Rapids; it closed on July 15th 1954 due to low postal volume & changed names 4 times: Elk Rapids/Falls City Post Office (1849–55), Fallsmere Post Office (1856), Chippingham Post Office (1858), finally Chippywah Post Office (1860) before becoming FallsmerePostoffice again effective October 6th 1960 until discontinued effective May 7th 1971 . First mail service operated outbound daily Monday thru Friday 9am thru 5pm with drop offs at depot until early evening June 3rd 1861; outbound mail served every day except Saturday until closing due to high water levels . Mail stopped arriving Aug 15th 1861 because mail house became unoccupied when fortifications were built upstream . On January 1st 1870 new postmaster general appointed John Cavanaugh who remained postmaster until 1893 . On May 7th 1971 post office ceased operations completely

Chippewa Falls is a small town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the western edge of the Green Bay metropolitan area. Chippewa Falls is one of five towns in Racine County and it is part of the Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,585 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in what became Chippewa Falls was James Ransom who arrived in 1835 from Tennessee. He built a log cabin on the east side of current day Snyders Street, about two miles south of today's downtown Chippewa Falls. In 1838, Jno Atwater purchased land from Ransom and began to build a mill on the creek that flows through Chippewa Falls into Iron River upstream from present day State Highway 54 (US Hwy 54). The Atwater Mill was constructed between 1840 and 1841 by John Crespo and his brother Isaac Crespo. The first flour brought to market came here in 1845 from Iowa by George Wittek & Son; it had been stored at an earlier mill near Hamburg, WI since 1837! In 1865, Rev John Burchwistle established a seminary for religious instruction in what would become known as "Wisconsin College" which served as both primary education for Congregationalists and later Lutheran missionaries until its closure in 1926; during this time period it educated many future leaders including pioneering women such as Alice Paul! After closing down college production methods were changed to continuous belt sowing with corn stalks that allowed us to know when our fields were ready for harvesting! This change led to increased cash crop production but also resulted in heavier use of water which caused saltation/cycling affecting local streams leading eventually to polluted water tables below ground level causing some abandoned villages along Iron River above modern day Watertown Wisconsin popularly known as "The ghost towns". Today you can still see evidence of early 19th century settlement at places like: White Settlement (now closed), Indian Town (closed date unknown), French Settlement (closed date unknown) etc… With over 100 years old history moving forward we continue striving towards becoming A Community That Works For All!!!
The first European to visit Chippewa Falls was a French trader in the late 18th century. The name for the falls is from the Ojibwe word chippewa, meaning "beautiful waterfalls." In 1795, General James Treat Rivers explored and surveyed the area around Chippewa Falls. He named his discovery of the falls after General John Forbes's Creek that flows immediately south of the falls. In 1839, when Congress authorized a survey of Wisconsin waters, they did not include Chippewa Falls among those designated as part of Wisconsin's 1st congressional district. By 1862, however, all federal boundaries had been redrawn and Chippewa Falls became part of Milwaukee County. The falls were designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
