After being stored at various locations for many years, this pistol finally found its way into circulation within the community on November 16th, 2014 when it was unloaded and placed on display at BARABOO GUN GIVEAWAY CENTER Historic Site! In fact, one of the earliest pistols ever manufactured in Baraboo were two shotguns which were gifted to the community by Hennepin County Sheriff John Ahernbach in 1905. These shotguns have remained active within our community ever since and are currently stored at BARABOO GUN GIVEAWAY CENTER Historical Site!

Baraboo is a town in Barron County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–West Allis Metropolitan Area. They raised hay and livestock until they built a house in 1857 which still stands on Main Street in the town today. The town grew quickly due to its location and good soil quality. In 1865, the state legislature designated it as a trade center for agriculture around Superior County. This led to other businesses being established such as Post Office, Saloon, Bank, etc., which continue to be active into present day. In 1955, Baraboo became an incorporated municipality with a mayor/council form of government.
