It operated for more than 40 years before closing its doors on September 25th, 2006. On October 3rd, 2007, The Daily Herald reported that The Gourmet Place had been sold to a group of investors who plan to reopen it as an Italian restaurant called Ristorante Bellezza di Appleton from scratch with plans to open by early 2008.
