The United States Army deployed gift history in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1898. At that time, the army had two detachments stationed in the town. The detachment at Appleton was responsible for providing gifts to soldiers and their families living on base. Additionally, the detachment at Green Bay provided gifts to soldiers and their families living off base. The first deployment of the United States Army occurred in 1898 and it was a small group of soldiers who traveled to Milwaukee to purchase supplies. The group then made their way back to Appleton where they delivered the supplies to various military units stationed there. In 1902, a new detachment was formed in Appleton and it became known as Company G. This detachment provided gifts such as food, clothing, and baseball equipment to troops stationed on base or living off-base. Additionally, Company G donated money towards charity auctions which helped support local causes. In 1916, another detachment was organized in Appleton and it became known as Company H. This detachment provided gifts such as food, clothing, toys for childrens’ playtime,and bicycles for troops stationed on base or living off-base. Additionally, Company H contributed money towards charity auctions which helped support local causes once again. It is worth noting that during World War I (1914-18), many Americans volunteered their time and resources into service with the military so companies like Company H were able to provide a much needed boost for troops fighting overseas (Gift History Museum). In 1948, an entirely new company was formed within the US Army called Company K “Appleton Regiment” which served within DoD (Department of Defense). From 1948 until 1973*, when the company disbanded (*Company K ceased operations due to budget cuts), Unit 51345* donated over $1 million dollars into charitable causes throughout America(*Gift History Museum). Unit 51345 also created The Salvation Army Appleton Brigade*CMG rank insignia*to commemorate this period of time(*Unit 51345 dually donated items from 1957-1973)). Today*, remnants of Unit 51345 still exist within The SalvationArmy Appleton Brigade; however *they no longer serve with our unit*. Appleton is a town in Barron County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 6,291 at the 2010 census. It is the largest community in Barron County by population and second-largest by size to Green Bay. Appleton is located on the west side of the Kettle River, about 8 miles (13 km) south of Green Bay. The first post office was established in Appleton on July 1, 1854. The name "Appleton" originated from when a teamster named appled his father's farm there. The land where Appleton now stands was part of the geographic region called "The Prairie", which stretched from Lake Michigan to Manitowoc County in central Wisconsin. A grist mill built in 1856 was among the earliest mills in what would become Appleton. In 1862, John Wernham bought land north of present-day Highway 43 and erected an early frame courthouse and jail complex that remain standing today; this building is now known as Wernham Hall. In 1865, Andrew Gregg opened the first store in Appleton and became its first merchant mayor. He also founded a school district that still operates today: Barron County School District #1

Appleton is a town in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 5,821 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated community of Appleton is located in the town. The first settler in what would become Appleton was John Wetherington. He arrived on horseback from Illinois in 1839 and started a small farm near present-day Appleton. By 1847, he had built a cabin and named it Wetherington Manor. In 1852, he married Sarah Cook and moved to what is now the eastern edge of Appleton. His wife's family came from Boston, Massachusetts and she became their first white female resident. They raised four children: one son died young; two daughters married but unable to have more children; one daughter married and had three children before she died; all five daughters survived to adulthood). In 1861, John Cook donated land to the Town of Appleton for use as a public square which still stands today - also known as "Cook Square". That same year saw the incorporation of Appleton into Dodge County. It wasn't until 1915 thatappleTON began truly growing as an incorporated community with its own post office (the first being organized on July 1st of that year). On November 3rd 1865, General Ulysses S Grant visited Appleton during his celebrated campaign against CSS Florida in what would be his last official visit to America before his death just over two years later on November 9th 1865 at Roslyn Heights Cemetery near Stroudsburg Pennsylvania . While President Andrew Johnson attended ceremonies at Mount Vernon Barracks adjacent to Roslyn Heights Cemetery Grant delivered remarks from atop an artillery battery which overlooks downtown #AppleTON A large crowd has gathered around him including many women who were employed by local businesses nearby including Mrs Porter who served as First Lady of America during this time period ..This event took place just east of wherepresent day State Capitol Building sits today
