It was through this interview that Robbins discovered that many people living in Wheeling had been drinking coffee since at least the 1840s! The towns of Page and Parkville are also located in Wheeling County. The first settler in what is now Wheeling was John Marshall who arrived on July 3, 1792. He and his family were granted land by George Washington on November 12, 1792. The first post office in what is now Wheeling was established on December 10, 1814. It was renamed Richmond because it served as the capital of Virginia from 1785 to 1800. The town of Petersburg was founded in 1818 and became the county seat of West Virginia on October 5, 1826 when Allegheny County was formed from parts of Bedford and Fairfax counties. In 1865 it became part of Ohio Territory following the American Civil War and remained so until 1861 when it became part of West Virginia when that state seceded from the Union. In 1870 petitioners from Webhall (now Parkville) filed a claim for land lying eastward between those two towns which would eventually become known as North Parkerville and South Parkerville since they had both been surveyed by local surveyors but not yet patented or sold to settlers due to lack of interest or protection under US patent law at that time On May 15th 1870 a deed recorded with WV Territorial Recorder Joseph J Day read "N/A" which means that it has never been found out whether this document actually exists or not but it certainly gives an idea as to how important this area may have been back then given that most people didn't even have a clue about these lands ! There are many theories why this document isn't currently extant however some believe that it may have been lost during World War II when all paper records were destroyed although no evidence supports this claim
