Coffee has been a part of the St. Albans, West Virginia community for many years. By the early 1970s, most of the businesses had closed down and the only remaining business was Harry's Coffee Shop on High Street. However, over time Harry's Coffee Shop has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in town because of its unique atmosphere and incredible collection of memorabilia from the history of coffee shops throughout America. The first espresso machine was installed at Harry's Coffee Shop in 1976 and it is still used today to make delicious cups of espresso. In addition to their signature drinks such as cappuccinos and lattes, customers can enjoy various pastries such as croissants, donuts or biscuits all day long! In recent years they have also started serving up breakfast items like omelets and pancakes along with their famous Belgian waffles! In 2013, Harry's Coffee Shop celebrated its centenary year with a special event called "Coffee Corner: A Hundred Years". They served up a variety of nostalgic-sounding dishes like an apple pie made with ground beef instead of cinnamon rolls; Hash Browns with bacon; Jellied Eggs Benedict; pumpkin pie (featuring whipped cream); home fries; hot dogs; macaroni salad; French toast; chocolate cake (with whipped cream); birthday cake...the list goes on! All these old-fashioned dishes were made using only local ingredients that were procured during World War I or II when foodRationing was much more difficult than it is now. It was amazing to see how well they reproduced some old-time favorites even though they are no longer available commercially today!

St. Albans, West Virginia is a town in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wheeling–Charleston Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now St. Albans were the Shawnees and their allies who lived there around 1711-1712 when they aided British forces during the French and Indian War. In 1764 Englishman Sir John Lawton founded the town on land he had bought from the Shawnee chief Powhatan after his victory over them at Fallen Timbers Creek near present day Wheeling, West Virginia. The first post office was established in 1832 and remained in operation until it closed on October 25, 1916; its last name was "Lawton". In 1868 local residents erected a school house which served as the town's first courthouse for many years before becoming an academy in 1892. In 1905 St. Albans became one of twelve towns in Kanawha County that formed the newly created Wheeling–Charleston Metropolitan Statistical Area (MWAS). Incorporation of this area into MWAS only occurred after several referenda were held to determine what form of government should be responsible for this growing community with a population exceeding 20,000 citizens by 1920; that same year also saw construction of a new high school which served as both St. Albans High School and Research Park High School until it merged with Cushing High School to form West Virginia University – Charleston Campus (WVU-CHC) in 2006; however since then all high schools have been operated as part of WVU-CHC through mutual agreement between WVU-CHC and each individual school district). The current mayor is Democrat Becky Senter who has held office since January 1st 2019 In recognition for its contributions to Western Virginias history St Albans has been designated as a National Historical Landmark by both Ulysses S Grant Woodson Memorial Foundation “for conspicuous services rendered” to American education during Reconstruction Era including helping found Central College here while also serving as superintendent of Columbian University Teachers Union Hall from 1893 until 1907; later being instrumental in developing Mountaineer Agricultural Experiment Station located adjacent to campus here where he conducted world’s first agricultural experimentations
