The Lake Forest Park Police Department has been providing service to the community since 1892. The department is currently organized into three precincts and one detective bureau. The police department's mission is to protect the citizens of Lake Forest Park and provide law enforcement services that are responsive to the needs of the community. One of the earliest policemen in Lake Forest Park was Captain John Dolan who arrived in 1892. Captain Dolan was a veteran of the Mexican-American War and served as a deputy sheriff for King County. He later became an officer with the Seattle Police Department where he served as chief from 1902 until his retirement in 1928. In 1898, Captain Dolan married Anna Janssen and they had two children, Jane and John Dolan Jr.. In 1908, Captain John Dolan Sr. was promoted to lieutenant colonel and served as assistant commanding officer for four years before becoming captain in 1912. During World War I, Captains John Dolan Jr., Percy Kappenheimer, Harry Hochman, Arthur Vogl and Willis Smith worked together to provide law enforcement services throughout King County while also serving in military duty. After World War I,Captain John Dolan Sr.'s son became captain while his daughter married Lieutenant Colonel George Auerbach who would serve with distinction on patrol during the Korean War before becoming commander of Patrol Division 5 in 1967 when Commissioner Murray took office. In 1968, Lieutenant Colonel George Auerbach left Patrol Division 5 to become assistant commander for criminal investigations with District 2 which included Lake Forest Park; Pioneer Heights; Bellevue; Interlake; Mt Vernon; Bothell; Issaquah; Redmond (later renamed Everett); Lynnwood (later renamed Lynnwood Hills) within City of Seattle limits prior to its incorporation intoSeattle on May 15th of that year under Mayor Seidel's administration . In 1978 Commander Scott Caulfield assumed command from Lieutenant Colonel George Auerbach when he retired from policing after 25 years service followed by Deputy Commander Dave Weigel who would remain in command until September 1st 2005 when Commanding Officer Tim Giffin was transferred to Headquartz detachment effective October 1st 2005 . On January 8th 2006 Assistant Chief Donny Hillenburg took over command from Deputy Commander Dave Weigel effective February 1st 2006 following Assistant Chiefs resignations due to health reasons . On October 12th 2007 it was announced that Assistant Chief Donny Hillenburg had lost his life after being struck by a car while responding To a call about a person walking on Main Street near CenturyLink Field just after midnight FM 95300 .. On November 3rd 2007 it was announced that Tyrone Watts had been selected as interim commanding officer pending appointment of a permanent commanding officer . On December 11th 2007 it was announced that Tyrone Watts had been appointed permanent commanding officer effective January 1st 2008 following Assistant Chiefs resignations due to health reasons On March 14th 2009 new officers were hired including Anthony Borgia as Crime Scene Investigator II & William Pfeffer III as Sergeant II & Josephine Lombardi as Sergeant III .. On April 21st 2009 Tyrone Watts resignedeffective July 30th 2009 citing personal reasons

Lake Forest Park is a community located in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 23,689 as of the 2010 census. It is part of Seattle–King County. The park occupies an area of 2,958 acres (1,203 hectare). The first settlers in what is now Lake Forest Park arrived in 1851 from Illinois and Indiana. They were led by Colonel George Wright and built a trading post and small town on the banks of the Willamette River. The town was destroyed by a flood in 1872 but was rebuilt on the same spot. In 1905, the city of Seattle annexed parts of King County and became incorporated as Seattle. When Seattle annexed Lake Forest Park it included all of its then unincorporated areas east of Interstate 5th Avenue south to Bothell Road and east to Asotin Road. In 1951, when Lake Forest Park was created as part of Seattle-King County it had a population of just over 10,000 people living within its boundaries only. Over time however the population has grown exponentially with each successive census due to many reasons such as annexation into other municipalities including Bellevue and Redmond; growth in employment withinSeattle-King County; families moving away from inner city crime rates;and newcomers coming to Sounders Stadium for baseball games or swimming during summer months when neighboring beaches are closed for season

Lake Forest Park is a census-designated place in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,816 at the 2010 census. It lies on the north bank of Lake Washington and is bordered by Seattle to the south and east, Bellevue to the north, Kirkland to the west, and Bothell to the northwest. The name "Lake Forest" was given in 1881 when George Everett sold land adjacent to what would become Lake Forest Park for $1 per acre. The park was first open to the public in 1909. In 1916 an addition were two large coves that made up what is now North Park Drive. These were part of a larger development which included Everett's home as well as otherasera businesses such as Safeway and KFC (now Chick-fil-A). In 1949 a new lakefront pool was built on Wilson Way just east of Interstate 5irkland Rd., northeast of Safeway across from CenturyLink Field before finally being completed in 1984. In 1990s growth began around Boeing Field with condo developments popping up along I-5 near Joe's Pizza and then further down I-5 towards Moses Lake Road. This growth has continued into this decade with more housing being developed near Valley Fair Mall on Capitol Hill Road just southwest of CenturyLink Field while also seeing some commercial buildings updated or replaced including Wet 'n' Wild amusement park which closed in 2018 after more than 40 years in business becoming one of only two amusement parks left operating in King County after Aquaphor pulled out citing financial difficulties.
