Kenmore was founded in 1851 as a small frontier community and has since grown into one of the most significant coffee towns in North America. In recent decades, it has become known for its unique brewing methods and for its association with Starbucks Coffee Corp., which began serving coffee there in 1994. The town's first cafe opened on Main Street in 1851 and quickly became known as the "Coffee Capital of the World". The first Starbucks store opened in 1994 in an old logging building on SE 3rd Avenue SE near downtown Kenmore. At that time, it was the only coffee shop open to the public within reach of most residents. Today, Kenmore remains a leading player in coffee culture with more than fifty cafes and restaurants serving its unique blends of roasts and beans from around the world. Kenmore is a town in King County, Washington. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area. The history of Kenmore can be traced back to 1847 when Captain George Stephenson and his family moved from Auburn, New York to what is now Kenmore. In 1853, John Stephenson founded the town on land that had been donated by his father-in-law, Judge James Linnell. The first store in Kenmore opened in 1855 and soon became a leading player in the community. The town grew rapidly and by 1870 it had over 100 residents. One of the early boosters for Kenmore was Reverend Simeon Morse who donated $5,000 towards construction of a new school in 1875. After several years of struggles with funding and lack of space, Morse's donation finally helped to build the current school building which opened its doors in 1889. In 1907, two brothers named Harry and Roy Draper purchased 160 acres (65 ha) north of Kenmore from Judge Linnell for $1 million dollars – making it one of the largest philanthropic donations ever made to King County during that time frame (the others being to Mountlake Terrace). The brothers immediately began developing this land into an agricultural oasis known as Draper Ranch; today it features more than 600 acres (240 ha) of forested landscape including 5 miles (8 km) of hiking trails as well as three golf courses and six tennis courts. Draper Ranch has also been used as a filming location for many movies and television shows over the years including "The Simpsons", "King Kong", "Ender's Game" and "". While most people focus on downtownKenora where shopping malls like Sears or Macy's are located, there are several interesting villages located around Kenmore proper such as Westfield mall which is close to Interstate 5; Adobe Valley which contains some beautiful homes dating back to pre-Civil War times; North Bend which includes a small riverfront village with shops, restaurants and services dating back to before World War II; Lakeside Village near Lake Union; East Wenatchee ; Hermiston ; Winthrop ; Goldendale ; North Bend Township although it no longer exists

Kenmore is a town in Washington County, Oregon, United States. The population was 11,683 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Washington County. The first post office in Kenmore was established on December 15, 1847. The current post office building was built in 1907 and named after Mrs. Abby Wickersham Kenmore. The town began as a small farming community near present-day Hood River, Oregon. A flour mill and sawmill were founded there in the early 1800s; both were eventually sold to other investors and closed down around 1870. In 1892, a store and hotel were built; they remain standing today as part of the Kenmore Village Historic District. A railroad line reached Kenmore from Hood River on November 17, 1886; it remained until 1938 when it was abandoned due to low demand for transportation in rural Oregon. From its beginnings until about 1910,Kenmore consisted of only one street: Prospect Street South which ran parallel to the tracks northeast of the town center. This single street served most of the citizens within its limits with no alley or side streets available for development beyond what could be seen from the main roadwaysoutside of town limits (the exception being a few acres west of Prospect that became known as "The Hills"). As more people began settling into western Oregon during this time period and needed more space than just one street-sized block within their townsite could provide, various efforts were made to develop additional areas outside of town limits including east/west alleyways and larger tracts of undeveloped land adjacent to existing homes but all without any success whatsoever until 1911 when plans were finally put together for what would become KenMORE - an enlarged version of hood river with two large blocks (north/south) located squarely within city boundaries nearing four blocks wide containing nearly every house extant at that time along with several dozen new businesses had been constructed providing even more living space than existed previously inside downtown which by then had quickly become home to almost every resident since it became known as "the heart" or "heartland"of kenMORE
