The Coast Guard in Kenmore, Washington was organized on April 20th, 1915. The Coast Guard became an effective law enforcement agency with the passage of the National Defense Act in 1916. The Coast Guard's first station was at Tacoma and it moved to Seattle in 1918. In 1924, the Coast Guard relocated its main headquarters to Olympia and a secondary headquarters in Bellevue in 1935. On July 1st, 1941, the United States entered World War II and the Coast Guard activated its first military unit-the Harbor Security Unit. In 1949, the Coast Guard absorbed all other federal agencies within its jurisdiction and changed its name to The United States Coast Guardsmen. This change reflected America's role as a global superpower during this time period. In 1970, Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act which gave rise to The Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS assumed responsibility for all aspects of coastal security including maritime security and defense against terrorism. As part of this effort, The United States Coast Guardsmen were transferred from DHS custody to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on October 21st, 2006. CBP is responsible for border protection throughout most of North America while The United States Coast Guardsmen are assigned south of the U.S.-Mexicoborder only when necessary due to concerns about smuggling activities or terrorist threats emanating from that area

Kenmore is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Town of Kenmore was organized on December 11, 1854 from parts of the towns of Snoqualmie and Auburn. The first postmaster was Wm. Halsey with the name "Auburn" until 1861 when it changed to "Kenmore". The original plat for Kenmore town sketched by George Nicholson in 1858 included an open meadow along Lake Washington between present day 2nd Avenue South and 3rd Avenue South and what is now University Way NE. This area became known as the Village Green which remains today as Main Street in Kenmore. In 1885, local citizens voted to incorporate as a village with its own Board of Trustees and Post Office under direction of Mayor John Richardson (1852-1925). On November 4th 1886, voters approved Amendment No 1 to the village charter granting township status to Kenmore Township on lands east of 2nd Avenue south including present day University Way NE & west of 3rd Avenue north including present day Everett Road NW & Snohomish Drive NW which became known as "Thornhill". On July 16th 1888, voters approved amendment No 2 to the charter giving cityhood to Kenmore City on all or part of land east & west of 2nd Ave south; this area became known as "Chestnut Hill" after a chestnut tree located thereabouts. In 1906, Mayor Cushman amended ordinance #2 creating Streets department within Municipal Police Department effective September 1st 1906 with head office located at 222 Eastlake Ave SE (now Greenwood Boulevard). Streets Dept./Police Dept continued until 1959 when they were merged into new City Hall Administration Building becoming Known AsCity Hall Annex/City Hall today. 1:10pm PDT - On Monday February 17th 2020 Councilwoman Kshama Sawant chaired meeting where motion was made that due diligence be done onto vacant lot next door belonging to property owner who has not been claimed since June 20th 2019 by both parties involved in dispute over rights To assess value $3K per acre+ Any appropriate action taken

In 1881, the town of Kenmore was founded by James and Anna Groom. The town Name derived from the family name of Kenmore who had several farms in eastern Washington. In 1861, when the Union Army invaded Washington Territory, they burned down many of the homes in what is now Kenmore. James and Anna Groom were able to rebuild their home and started a small grocery store. By 1885, they had 4 stores and 10 employees. In 1905, they built a new store on State Street which became known as the "Groom Store." The town of Kenmore grew slowly until it exploded with growth in 1916 when it was renamed “Kenmore-Cedar Rapids” after Cedar Rapids, Iowa which had recently become a city. The population jumped from 2,000 to 25,000 in just 5 years! During World War II (1939-1945), many residents served in the military or worked at local businesses such as defense plants or munitions factories. After the war ended in 1945, there was an intense population growth as people returned to school and began buying homes again. The median household income reached $60 per week by 1971! When Cedar Rapids deeded its portion of land to KenMORE in 1984 through mutual agreement between both cities, it also signaled an end toensenberrytownhistory controversy that has embroiled both cities ever since!
