Everett, Washington is a town in King County, Washington on the Kitsap Peninsula. The population was 34,844 at the 2000 census. Everett is first mentioned in 1846 as "Washakamet", and it became an incorporated town in 1907. The town of Everett was named for John Everett, a farmer who donated land to the city. Everett's rich coffee history began with the first commercial processing of coffee in America near what is now downtown Everett in 1903 by Hagerty Bros. The first coffee house opened in Everett in 1906 and was run by local farmers and their families. In 1927, Jardine Coffee Company merged with another Seattle-based company, National Coffee Corporation (NBC), which made Ewing its primary production center for beans and products. Artisan coffee is a term typically used to describe coffee made by small-scale, hand-roasting and brewing businesses. The term has been coined in response to the growing trend of large chain coffee shops. In general, artisan coffee refers to coffees that are produced in small batches and roasted with attention to detail. Hand roasting is the process of heating beans in a controlled environment for a specific time period before they are ground into desired size. This results in a more intense flavor profile than either large multinationals or processed coffees that have been mass-produced. It is important to note that hand roasts can take anywhere from 6 months up to 3 years, so it’s important for those who want their caffeine fix not just to purchase an average bag of beans but also find one with unique flavors and qualities. Brewing involves boiling water and adding the desired amount of timekeeper (such as malt) which will then steep for a certain amount of time. After this, the brewer will add hot water and some sugar which will cause enzymes called hydrolysis enzymes to break down soluble carbohydrates into glucose and fructose while continuing its solubility on contact with air. This mixture will then be placed under pressure where vaporized oils will escape during extraction according to their Osmotic Pressure Chart (OPC). At this point, all fats have melted away leaving what we now call “partial roast” beans due to the fact that most oils have settled at different levels within the bean wrapper causing them not all reach perfection simultaneously like when whole bean roasted would happen naturally without any processing taking place! Partial Roasts tend towards more complex flavors because they allow for more exposed lipids (fats) present on each bean particle rather than being hidden inside oily layers which gives these flavors an opportunity for greater absorption by your taste buds!

The Everett coffee scene is rich with history. The first coffee house in Everett was opened in 1892 by George Washburn and his brother, John. It was the first commercial outlet for ground coffee in the Pacific Northwest. In 1916, Everett's first grocery store, The Grapes of Wrath, started selling beans from local sources. In 1951, Harry Fenton opened the first non-profit recycling center in Puget Sound County. He began collecting used coffee cups and other items to recycle into new products. This initiated what is now known as "Everett Coffee Day."

Today, Everett offers some unique attractions such as its preserved pioneer sites including Pioneer Square which includes an original log cabin and adjacent wagon train depot; Cedar Hill Park with its woodlands, ponds and full waterfalls; Asphalt Valley which contains several demonstration pipelines run by URS Corporation; Boeing’s Experimental Aircraft Association (EA) hangar;the Willamette River Gorge Walkway which includes hikes through extensive logged forest and meadow habitats;and much more!
