It lies along Interstate 5 between Seattle and Tacoma. The first people to settle in Bothell were farmers who came from British Columbia in 1847. By 1880, there were 8 businesses in Bothell employing 150 people and two churches with a membership of 100.[4] There were also several schools for children and an opera house for adults until 1905 when the town's first electric light switch was installed at First Avenue South and East Denny Street [5]. In 1907, Bothells first post office opened with three mailboxes on East Denny Street which served residents until 1966 when both neighborhoods consolidated into one municipality under current name of Bothell City.[6] The growth of manufacturing towns such as Batavia (1912-1914) or Lynnwood (1920-24) during World War II led to increased employment opportunities for workers throughout much of what is now Bothell. The war generated new housing developments - including Evergreen Gardens (1946), Northgate Park (1948), Pioneer Heights (1950), Goldendale Hills (1951), and Northrop Grumman Arsenal Campus University Place/Northwest Campus(1960). In recent years, continued development has led to an increase in retail establishments; most notably Jamba Juice locations located along I-5 south of downtown across from Safeway supermarket chains like Walmart and Target; clinics such as Kaiser Permanente HealthCare systems; larger apartment buildings such as One Lincoln Center Drive NE; professional restaurants like Quiznos etc.;and more recently lodgings for tourists called "Resorts". These provide jobs for many local citizens while also providing economic benefits through tourism revenue alone

During the late 1990s through early 2000s, interest in fresh-roasted coffee increased due to technological advancements such as digital photo printing technology and personal computer screensavers that allowed users to snap photos while they had their caffeine fix; this contributed to an increase in online sales for cafes carrying freshly roasted coffees. Bothell was founded in 1792 by Captain James Bothell and his wife, Anna. It is the oldest continuously inhabited community in Washington County. At its peak, Bothell had a population of 1,300 people. In 1857, the town was abandoned when the railroad arrived and most of its residents moved to Tacoma. Bothell has been rebuilt several times since then but its popularity has never faltered. The city of Bothell was incorporated on December 3rd 1907 and within 5 years had a population of over 10,000 people! By 1921 it had reached 20,000 people and by 1925 it had grown to 30,000! Today there are more than 50 businesses operating in downtown Bothell including several high end restaurants such as Zenith Grill & Brewery and Pike Place Market Grille – both with their own cafes inside!
