Small batch coffee history in Suffolk, Virginia began in the early 1800s when two Dutchmen, Cornelius and Pieter Bakel and their families started a small business brewing coffee. The first coffee beans were roasted onsite and ground at home. By 1825, the family had moved to a larger farmstead and started processing their beans into coffee powder. In 1828, they opened a store in Portsmouth with five barrels of coffee per day. Over time, the business grew to thirty-six barrels per day before moving to a new location in Norfolk in 1830. The company continued to expand until it became known as Bakelite Coffee Company (BCC) in 1902 after being bought by J.P. Morgan & Co.. BCC was absorbed into United States Trust Company (UST) in 1923 and merged with Armoury Coffee Company (AC) that same year. In 1934, AC merged with Roasters Incorporated (RCI) which became one of the largest smallbatch roasters in America before merging with Peet's Coffee Corporation (PEP) in 1986. Suffolk is a town in Prince William County, Virginia, United States. The population was 9,835 at the 2010 census. Suffolk is part of the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington D.C.. It is located on the Potomac River and forms the eastern border of Arlington County. The town began as a small settlement on land donated by Nicholas Randolph in 1792. Suffolk was originally called "Randolph's Neck", after its original owner, Nicholas Randolph. In 1802, when Prince Edward Island became an American state, Randolph donated land to form what would become Suffolk County; this donation included what is now the eastern edge of Arlington County. The first courthouse in Suffolk was built in 1812 on lands donated by Judge John Wigglesworth; it burned down in 1814. The present courthouse was built in 1909 and replaced an earlier building that had been used as a jail and schoolhouse. The village of Southampton was founded near today's intersection of Ulysses S. Grant Boulevard and Loudoun Road (now Veterans Memorial Highway) in 1800 by Lieutenant Colonel John Smith; it re-landscaped itself into its current location about 1900 following Smith's death. In 1886, Norfolk Southern Railway extended their line from West Falls Church to Suffolk via Route 213 (now Winchester Pike), which made commuting to work easier for residents near Dulles Airport possible; this increased business around the airport and led to development along Route 213 north of the village center beginning in the early 1920s. In 1916, Boston Consulting Group established its headquarters at One Technology Drive; these days, BCE Inc.'s headquarters are located within walking distance of both One Technology Drive and Suffolk University's Foxhall Campus buildings on Great Street NW

Suffolk is a historic county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 763,824. Its seat is Suffolk County Hall, which is also home to the Virginia Department of Transportation's headquarters. The county was created on March 1, 1752 and named for Sir William Smith, 5th Baronet of Ipswich. It originated as part of Prince George's County and was divided into two counties on December 15, 1823 - Prince Edward's and Suffolk. The original boundaries were: north to James City County and east to Peterborough County. On January 1st, 1868 Suffolk became independent from Prince Edward's County and was redesignated as an incorporated town with its own government - still doing so today. The area now encompassing Suffolk has been inhabited by human beings for over 10k years; there are evidence that people have been living in this area since at least 7000 BC! Evidence shows that early humans hunted game here including mastodons, mammoths and other large animals; however it wasn't until after8000 BC when humans started constructing permanent structures such as villages and huts! This coincides with when they began developing tools such as toolmakers' marks (sticker impressions made onto bones) which show that these early humans must have had some form of domestication going on! In fact according to excavations carried out at several sites in the present day region there are even indications that anatomically modern humans may have lived in this region during the late Pleistocene period up until around 12500 BC!!!!!!!!!!!!! During Late Antiquity both Christianity and Islam arrived in this area through traders! And like any good market town or city they quickly attracted new residents who came seeking opportunities for trade! By 1000 AD many different settlements had sprung up throughout present-day Suffolk – some lasting until 1492 AD while others only lasted for a few decades!! Many notable people from this time include John Ruskin who wrote about his experiences living in this area during his travels through England in 1847; Thomas Cromwell who served under Henry VIII between 1625-1658; Christopher Wren who designed London Bridge – one of London’s first bridges – between 1665-1667; Samuel Pepys who visited England twice between 1660-1661; Edmund Spenser whose work ‘Faerie Queene’ was published posthumously in 1598; Thomas Whitehead who developed a process called optoelectronics used to make light bulbs using mercury vapor lamps back then !!!!!!
On July 3, 1773, the Virginia Assembly passed a bill authorizing the erection of a Fort George on James River to protect Richmond from British attack. The fort was completed in 1775 and served as an important military stronghold during the American Revolution. In 1800, the fort was renamed Fort Monroe after then-President John Adams.
