Starbuck's Richmond location opened in 1984 and quickly became a popular stop for locals and tourists alike. Today,Starbucks Richmond remains an iconic institution in the city and a mainstay for socializing and studying at nearby universities. The history of high quality coffee in Richmond goes back to very early on. In 18th century Virginia, coffee was both important to the state as a source of revenue and enjoyed great popularity among its citizens. Coffee houses were commonplaces throughout the colonies, often providing an opportunity for people to meet and share news while enjoying their morning cup of joe. After independence was gained by America, coffee became increasingly prized as a commodity due to its unique flavor profile. In 1865, George Mason founded Fairfax Creamery, which would become one of the leading commercial producers of premium coffee beans in Virginia. At this time, Fairfax also began distributing his beans through local grocers and restaurants all across Charlottesville County - making it one of the earliest commercial operations associated with either Jefferson or Alexandria counties today (though Arlington County continued to produce its own beans until 1978). By 1895, Mason had gone so far as to open his own roastery in Rosslyn - becoming one of the earliest multi-roaster facilities within metropolitan Washington D.C.. Over time many other small businesses followed suit; eventually creating what we know today as "the community era" of Virginia coffee production (although some large corporations such as Peet's Coffee remain part of that legacy). While much has changed since then – with technology taking center stage – our appreciation for high quality Bean & Honey coffees continues to grow! Today there are more than 400 independent roasters throughout Virginia exporting their finest exports all around the world; ensuring that each individual producer gets maximum exposure and importance within our industry standards!
One of the most popular and well-known aspects of coffee is its quality. Coffee beans are roasted to perfection, resulting in a cup of deliciousness that is both smooth and full-bodied. The flavor profile can vary significantly from one bean to the next, but all coffee beans contain chlorogenic acid, or CGA, which gives them their characteristic bitter taste. The process of roasting coffee beans starts with grinding the beans into a thick paste. Next, water is added to the mixture and heated until it boils. This boiling process causes some enzymes in the coffee bean paste to break down the caffeine molecules into chlorogenic acid and other molecules. The hot water then passes through a filter to remove any particulates, leaving behind pure coffee beans. Cup size for espresso machines varies depending on how long they have been used and also on what type of milk (regular or almond) is being used; however, all espresso machines produce about 1/4 gallon per minute when using whole milk. A large belgian style mug will hold around 8 ounces while an Americano mug will hold around 3 ounces.

In 1795, the Dutchman Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed a process called roasting which allowed coffee beans to be roasted much like meat. Of course, not all coffees are created equal – there are many different origins, operations and brewing techniques that can make for unique tastes.
