Some of the earliest coffee shops in Hampton were The Coffee Shop on North Main Street and the Dutchman's Coffee House at 95th and Elm Streets. In 1892, Harry Kessel opened the first grocery store in Hampton with necessary supplies for local roasters. In 1898, John Sprague opened a bakery in town. By 1907, there were four coffeehouses in town serving iced coffee and pastries. In 1951, Hampton had its first radio station when WTVD-FM began broadcasting from a building on Elm Street. In 1957, WTVD moved to its current location on Portsmouth Boulevard and changed their call letters to WWBT-AM. The station was sold to Citadel Broadcasting Corporation in 1984 and became WCVB-FM (now WTVE). In 1990, Citadel Broadcasting Corporation sold WMAR-AM (now WPBF) to Infinity Broadcasting Company for $1 million. Infinity then merged with Time Warner Inc., which owned WCVB-FM, into Turner Broadcasting System (TBS). In 1996, TBS merged with Comcast SportsNet California/Orlando to form Comcast SportsNet Florida/Miami – which changed its name to NBCSN Florida/Miami in 2007. In 2000, TBS merged with Time Warner Entertainment Co., formerly AOL Time Warner Inc., creating Turner Broadcasting System Europe Ltd. On October 1st of that year it was announced that TNT would be moving its headquarters from Atlanta to London effective December 15th of that year as part of a rebranding effort by Turner UK Ltd.. This move increased competition between CNN International parent company Atlantica Media NV and TNT parent company Ted Turner Enterprises Limited within the English language television industry as both networks offered competing versions of national news programming across all platforms including satellite TV, cable TV and terrestrial radio throughout most of Europe during this time period including coverage across Continental European countries excluding Italy where only Atlantica operated until 2009 when Ted bought back control from his son Jamie Turner via his private equity firm Uniton Capital LLP however continued operations under his father’s old name while also expanding production facilities primarily located within Greater Manchester England until 2014 when he decided not renew the contract after disagreements over editorial independence arising from Rupert Murdoch’s ownership stake within 21st Century Fox plc - although some regional distribution services continue today under new brand names such as Sky News Germany & Austria due Channel 4 having acquired full ownership of both channels prior to their merger).

Coffee slowly gained popularity throughout English society until 1800, when it finally reached its peak as a beverage under British rule. At this point, coffee began decline due to concerns over health risks associated with drinking high-quality beans strainers were extensively used at this time (the modern roasting process only became widespread after World War II). However, despite these challenges, coffee still remains one of humanity’s most beloved drinks and continues to play an important role both socially and economically today.

As of the 2010 census, Hampton had a total population of 16,711.
