The history of coffee in Fredericksburg, Virginia goes back to the early 1800s. The first recorded mention of coffee in this area was from an English traveler, who noted that he had been served "a great deal of black coffee" at a plantation near present-day Fredericksburg. In 1824, Colonel John Brown and his men founded the town of Fredericksburg on land that they had acquired during the Mexican War. Coffee began to be grown here in earnest soon after its arrival in the area. By 1828, small plantations with six or more acres were producing some 500 pounds of beans per acre. In 1840, General Robert Ewell established Camp Pickett within sight ofpresent-day Fredericksburg for use as a training ground for Confederate soldiers. During this time, coffee became one ofGeneral Robert Ewell's favorite foods because it was easy to transport and could be stored easily due to its high quality. Later on, General James Longstreet also enjoyed coffee while stationed in camp near present-day Fredericktown. By 1865, Coffee had become so important to Jordan Valley Farms that it was sold off to other farmers. However, by 1870 it had again resumed its importance as a cash crop for local farmers and businesses throughout the region due largely to increased production from larger plantations nearby which were able to purchase more beans from smaller farms (similarly to how wine is now produced). As demand grew for coffee elsewhere in the Confederacy (and even abroad), small farms like Jordan Valley Farms were forced out OFFREDERICKSBURG; however their legacy has continued up through today's grocery stores and cafes catering specifically towards locals who enjoy fresh roasted beans every morning!

It wasn’t until after World War II that coffee became popularized in the United States because of its stimulant properties. Afterward, people began purchasing more and more beans so they could have their own cups of joe without having to order in from a café or restaurant. By 1970, coffee had become so popular that it had its own trade fairs called “World Coffee Championships” where different countries competed for the best-quality beans. In recent years, people have begun using green tea instead of black tea for their morning caffeine fix because it has many health benefits such as reducing risk for heart disease and helping you feel better overall after eating breakfast or dinner.
