The modern army was founded in 1795 when King George III decided to make a new military for the English people. He ordered the construction of a standing Army of about 100,000 men and women. The first unit to be raised was the Grenadier Guards Regiment. In 1815, after Napoleonic Wars had ended, the king decided that an all-embracing nationalArmy should be created. This body was to have an army corps each composed of infantry, cavalry, artillery and marines (the navy not being included). In 1816 two new regiments were raised: The Rifle Brigade and Lancers. In 1830 there were another two regiments: The Hussars and Dragoon Guards. In 1848 three more battalions were raised: 14th Light Infantry, 16th Foot Artillery and 20th Dragoons (the last battalion being disbanded in 1861). From 1862 onwards there was a regular army establishment with four field divisions available at any one time; this increased to ten field divisions by 1914 because of World War I and then to twelve as a result of World War II. There has never been such a bigArmy as today’s British Army with over 200 million soldiering members – it is now around 150 million strong!

Falls Church, Virginia is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 21,845 at the 2010 census. Falls Church is part of the Washington metropolitan area. It is adjacent to Northern Virginia and Interstate 395. In 1700, George Washington and his friends Sir John Lewis and James Ketchum founded the towns of Alexandria and Fells Point on the Potomac River in what is now Falls Church Township. After General Washington's death in 1799, his three adult children divided up their father's property among themselves: George got Fairfax County; Mary got Frederick County; and Thomas got Loudoun County. In 1814, when Alexandria became the capital of Egypt under Napoleon Bonaparte after he sacked Cairo, FallsChurch became one of two U.S.-based cities not destroyed by Napoleonic forces during that war (the other being New York City). After Reconstruction following the American Civil War ended in 1865 with Confederate victory over Union forces at Appomattox Court House, many residents relocated to Northern Virginia or WestVirginia due to high prices for land in central Virginians after Reconstruction had ended. However, many veterans from both sides of the civil war settled here as well as others who had lost their homes or livelihoods in those states during Reconstruction. The result was a relatively low population growth rate until World War II when birth rates began to rise because so many young people found new opportunities here after leaving rural areas for city life - especially after 1945 when manufacturing jobs disappeared due to automation overseas and subsequent economic decline in America. In 1947-48 a group of local businessmen formed an organization called "The National Civic Federation" which aimed "to promote efficiency within society through cooperative efforts". They met annually at various locations including Springfield Armory where they drafted a set of principles known as the Fairfax Plan which emphasized community development through education (including evening classes), public works projects such as renovating churches and schools, family planning programs/free clinics etc., anti-discrimination measures against job discrimination based on race or religion etc., creating an elected board form civic organizations/associations with powers similar to those currently enjoyed by county governments throughout America (notably including zoning authority) etc., then brought this package directly to Congress where it was introduced into law as The National Civic Federation Act before dying out shortly thereafter amidst opposition from powerful business interests groups led by J. P.] Morgan & Co.. It finally received Congressional passage on November 30th 1951 under then Congressman Everett Dirksen who chaired Specialty Committee on Domestic Security – later renamed Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity – having first heard about itsexistence from economist Milton Friedman while he was working for President Harry Truman’s Council of Economic Advisors.. Ultimately this legislation institutionalized civic activity within local government across America becoming something we take for granted today without realizing it! As each successive president has issued more executive orders implementing these same policies via Executive Order 12802 (affecting all departments & agencies), even more progress has been made towards institutionalizing these types of activities within our federal government! Today we live in an era where citizens are empowered through technology to become involved politically directly through online channels like Facebook & Twitter!

In 1801, it was renamed after General James K. Polk and became the largest city in Virginia.
