The Fairfax Coast Guard gift history began in 1881 when the first coast guard detachment was established at Fort Point on the Potomac River. The earliest gifts were small items such as hats, coats, and dogs. In 1922, a new station was built at Cedar Point on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and gifts started to become more sophisticated. In 1935, the first pier was built at Hampton Roads and gifts became more like actual pieces of maritime equipment. In 1949, the Coast Guard station in Alexandria was moved to its current location on land adjacent to King’s Chapel Roman Catholic Church. This allowed for more formal occasions such as birthdays or weddings to be celebrated there rather than at Fort Point. In 1977, a new command center was dedicated at King's Chapel and Gifts continued to grow in sophistication. In 1999, an annex was erected next door to the command center which allowed for larger donations from individuals or groups who wanted their names included on Coast Guard markers along the shoreline of Virginia Beach. Fairfax, Virginia is a city in Fairfax County, Virginia. The population was estimated to be over 250,000 as of the 2010 census. It is the largest city in the county and is located on the Potomac River. The first European settlers arrived in 1777 and named their town after Prince George's County, Maryland. In 1802, they renamed it Fairfax because they were landowner majority on City Council at that time. The original downtown area now includes both the U Street corridor running perpendicular to I-495 (the "Expo Line"), which runs through much of Fairfax and south to Manassas Heights (west of Rosslyn), as well as many other streets within a few blocks of each other. One must walk all around town for its full flavor; there are no major highways that run through it like those found in most metropolitan areas today. Most notable churches in Fairfax include St John's Episcopal Church (founded 1812), Trinity United Methodist Church (1868), First Baptist Church (1852), Bethesda PresbyterianChurch(1870) and Christadelphian Church from 1865 until its closure in 1984 due to financial problems caused by saturated congregations with small budgets compared to larger churches across the country at that time. There are also several dozen smaller religious groups affiliated with some or all of these denominations including Jehovah's Witnesses, Anglican/Catholic/Anglican Bible Societies and Pentecostal/charismatic faiths which account for most public services inside or outside of large downtown buildings today - something not seen elsewhere throughout Greater Washington state even though similar denominations abound throughout much of suburban Maryland A number of high-profile businesses have been located locally such as Time Warner Cable headquarters since 1997 and Mercedes Benz Financial Services since 2000 adjacent to I-395 northbound exit ramp off Interstate 95 near Dulles Airport; both companies merged into one entity known as Time Warner Cable Company LLC later that year along with Comcast Corporation pending final approval from regulators

Fairfax County, Virginia is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 713,521. The county seat and largest city is Fairfax. The area now comprising Fairfax County was part of Prince William County until 1737, when it became part of Hanover County. It was first settled by English colonists in 1607 as part of Powhatan Nation east of Jamestown. In 1851, Fairfax was split off from Prince William to form its own independent government; later that year, it became a part of the United States after becoming a state in 1865. The history and culture of Fairfax date back to at least 1607 when English colonists founded Fort Frederick on the Potomac River near modern-day Falls Church. For most of its early years, Fairfax belonged to Powhatan Nation and was under their jurisdiction. In 1737, though still within Powhatan's domain, Fairfax came under British control following the Treaty of New York between France and Great Britain resulting from King George II's attempt to reestablish his authority over Native American nations south of the Rappahannock River. At this time, much like other areas within British North America which were divided amongst several proprietorships or "regiments", there were no real boundaries between these various Indian possessions save for minor jurisdictional differences: for example, Fort Frederick lay west bank but trade with the Indians took place across what is now Route 38 (Old National Road). On September 3rd 17 37 – during King George II's reign – Petero Jones led an uprising against colonial authorities at Portsmouth Plantation near present day Alexandria; two days later Janemina McIntosh joined forces with Jones against Colonial troops commanded by Colonel John Armstrong at nearby Monticello Park while also raiding nearby plantations; this event marked one significant escalation in Native American resistance against British colonialism although similar uprisings had occurred before throughout southern Virginia In 1783–84 Major General Edward Braddock’s army invaded West Virginia keyizing military support for then-Governor Patrick Henry’s effort to quash local Indian attacks on settlers – an event which would eventually lead to fully autonomous native nations across much of North America Aftermath: By 1800 about 60% Virginians lived in rural areas outside major metropolitan centers while only 10% lived inside central cities In 1851 Arlington Heights became oneofthe first incorporated towns in Virginia when it amalgamated with neighboring Fredericksburg into Arlington County During World War I service members from both jurisdictions served together at Camp Beale on Pulaski Peninsula outside Richmond Today: Many people who originally grew up living around Central Washington Drive know all about Fairfax because so many people live here that they are quasi-native . However even those people who live here mostly have some connection through having been raised here or going through school here
