Taylorsville is a small city in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,584 at the 2010 census. Taylorsville is located on the east side of the Wasatch Mountains, about 25 miles (40 km) south of Salt Lake City. The town started as a log settlement founded by Brigham Young in 1847. By 1860, Taylorsville had a post office and three stores. In 1871, Taylorsville became incorporated as a village and had six businesses and 240 residents. The first school in Taylorsville was built in 1870. In 1878,zonation changed from Indian Territory to Utah Territory; this led to new development in the area around Taylorsville. By 1886 there were nine businesses with 1,000 residents and ten schools with 2,000 students; four churches also operated in that era. A church was built in 1902 which remains active today as First Baptist Church of Taylor's Village (FBBV). In 1909-10, the community erected an airship hangar for use by local farmers during summertime fly fishing trips over the Snake River Canyon; it remained operational until 1941 when it was destroyed by fire. The first high school gymnasium opened in 1922; it has been replaced many times but remains standing as one of downtown Taylor's most iconic features. On July 6th 1920 Donny Sorenson made history when he set a world record for running his 100 yards dash in 9 seconds flat – breaking one of America's oldest records! In 1933–34 construction began on what would become home field for BYU football games – Taylor Stadium/Stadium Drive (later renamed Bronco Stadium). It took two years to build but finally finished on November 11th 1936 after $27 million worth of construction expenses! That same year saw America enter World War II and during that time Taylor Stadium served as both military headquarters for Wasatch Air Force Base (#1) and storage space for munitions at Fort Douglas Army Depot (#2). During peacetime it served primarily as a high school center until its demolitionin 1961 due to budget cuts caused by Eisenhower’s New Frontier program…..It wasn’t until 1965 when Park Avenue Elementary School opened next door that serious competition began to come from nearby towns such as South Jordan and Cottonwood Heights……..In 1978-79 Donny Sorenson set another world record when he ran his 400 meters dash under 9 seconds……This event helped spur further development along Park Ave which eventually led to what is now called Bronco Stadium/Taylor Stadium….Today Taylor Stadium/Stadium Drive continues serve as home field for both BYU football games and other events throughout the year with an attendance capacity of 62K while still retaining its original look & feel…..Overall we can say that through hard work & dedication over many years countless people have made their mark on this community including those who have left us behind like Donny Sorenson or my father John Fortunato Sr…..Thank you all for your memories!

In 1861, Taylorsville became the capital of Utah Territory, and it remained so until 1997. During its time as the capital, Taylorsville also played an important role in becoming a cultural and religious center for Mormons across America. It is now home to several museums and landmarks related to Mormonism, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ (LDS) Temple Square Museum and Exhibition Center. The town started as a small farming community located on what is now called State Route 12 near where Interstate 80 crossed the Great Salt Lake Valley. By 1840, Taylorsville had grown Enough that it petitioned Brigham Young to become a City under his jurisdiction. On March 15, 1849, Taylorville was made the Territorial Capital of Utah Territory with its own government and police department. It quickly rose through playtime as a stop on stagecoaches heading eastward into California; by 1860 it boasted more than 5500 residents. In 1861, when Utah Territory was created from parts of Arizona Territory and New Mexico Territory following Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, Taylorville became its capital city in order to serve as both the seat of government for all territorial areas east of the Rocky Mountains as well as act as an educational and cultural center for Mormons across America from Nauvoo (now Chicago) in Illinois to Des Moines ( Iowa) in Iowa during their missionary work among American Indians.. In 1897 when Utah finally left the United States Union after 27 years of existence, Taylor's Ville remained as part of that state until it too ceased operations in 2002. During its time at Capitol Hill: "Taylorsville saw many events which would have an impact on future policies or actions taken by officials within Congress or other branches." For example: On February 28th 1862 President Abraham Lincoln signed into law The Civil Rights Act Of1862 which outlawed discrimination based on race throughout all U S territories excluding Hawaii despite objections from some Mormon leaders such as Lorenzo Snow who claimed this would lead to African Americans moving into their territory This event helped solidify white supremacy within Mormonism while creating tension with other minority groups across America - most notably African Americans - which would continue through various institutions such as Jim Crow laws throughout American history
