The Spanish Fork Army Depot was founded in 1916 as the Spanish Fork Arsenal. It became the Spanish Fork Army Reserve Base in 1944, and then the Spanish Fork Army Depot Museum in 1959. The depot closed its doors in 1984, but reopened as theSpanish Fork Armory in 1995. In 2003, it merged with the nearby Fort Riley military base to form the Mexican War Museum inside of Fort Riley. In 2006, it became part of the Utah National Guard's Dugway Proving Grounds Complex and continues to serve as a military depository for surplus ordnance and munitions.
